Job Description:
The ideal candidate is a competitive self-starter that thrives
in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for interacting with
customer on release of cargo after collecting freight charges and
approve release in case of credit.Responsibilities* Issue receipts
for freight collections and approve release of cargo* Issue
receipts for container deposits and process refunds once containers
returned* Issue receipts for detention and demurrage collections*
Follow up on detention and demurrage collections in for US and
LATAM countries* Provide status report on a weekly basis of all AR
over 30 days* Maintain Credit Policy* Obtain Credit approvals from
NS and for Internal approved customers* Follow up with Credit
customers for collections in US and LATAM countries* Reconcile all
Bank Accounts (USA and LATAM)* As required coordinate with
stakeholders in LATAM--in the relevant tasks.* Ensure all cashier
packets are readily available with corrections* Ensure NB & SB
payments are maintained and collected in a timely manner* Contact
and inform customers of any outstanding freight due* Ensure that
all payments are collected, inputted and balanced daily* Provide a
weekly amount to be transferred to customer* Maintain customer
balance sheet as needed* Ensure the receivables report is up to
date* Ensure NB & SB arrival notices and freight bills are sent out
to customers* Process refunds in a timely manner* Other duties as
neededQualifications* High School Diploma or GED required* Degree
in Accounting or related field preferred* Knowledge of--shipping
industry or--freight logistics * Knowledge of accounting software*
1-2 years experience in similar cashier or finance role--processing
bill of ladings, collections, and bank reconciliations* Fluency in
a Spanish is preferred.
