Job Description:

Job Description--The Payroll & Billing Specialist is responsible for processing all aspects of weekly payroll for employees.--The Primary Responsibilities* include, but are not limited to, the following:--

  • Monitor submissions of--approved timesheets and accurately enters data into payroll--system
  • Audit timesheets and compare to Payroll
  • Ensures valid data transfers between systems
  • Run weekly payroll
  • Enter new hires into the payroll system, add wage garnishments, health insurance deductions, etc. into the--system as required
  • Confirm the calculation of wages, overtime--and deductions to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations and labor agreements/contracts
  • Responsible for the--coordination of efforts between payroll, human resources, finance,--operations and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of--employee data
  • Establish/maintain--employee records
  • Ensure employee changes are entered correctly and--made on a timely basis
  • Answer phones as needed
  • Support as needed with the processing of terminations and--layoffs--Billing & Administrative Duties: --
    • Ensure reimbursement through efficient billing and collections operations
    • Effective accounts receivable administration
    • Ensure that billing and hospital/facility accounts records systems are maintained in compliance with state and federal regulations
    • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of hospital/facility/nurse contracts
    • Ensure bills are according to contract provisions
    • Follow up on payment denials/incorrect payments; minimize re-bills and communicate accordingly
    • Protect the confidentiality of hospital/facility/nurse information through effective controls of billing operations
    • Understand and apply HIPAA guidelines/regulations
    • Work with CFO resolving employee payroll problems
    • Alert management regarding late or missing documents required for payroll and billing
    • Prepare and submit invoices either electronically or by paper
    • Follow and report status of delinquent accounts; prepares information for conducting collection actionsQualification and Skills:
      • Must have at least 2-5--years of payroll processing and data entry experience
      • Knowledge of payroll--processes, procedures, and standards
      • H.S. diploma or GED is--required. A Bachelor---s Degree is--preferred
      • Proficient in Word, Excel and--Outlook
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pay attention to detail
      • Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
