OverviewJob SummaryThis position is responsible for ensuring a consistent framework of product policies, processes, and procedures across all business units, drafting and implementing compliance guidelines and interacting cross functionally throughout the organization to develop and maintain standard operating procedures.$67,738 - $84,673ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities* Interprets Legislation and Regulations to ensure that established policies and due diligence procedures conform to legal standards.* Works with management and staff across all business units of the Authority to establish, enhance and create consistency for all policies and procedures for all existing EDA products.* Manages the maintenance of policies, procedures and processes once created, including policy clarifications and updates. Ensures all policy clarifications and updates are tracked, documented and communicated to relevant EDA staff.* Creates business flow charts to support business processes that have been developed.* Create documentation standards within the CRM system that will support audit purposes.* Provides training to applicable EDA staff on legal requirements, policies, procedures and processes, including any changes that may impact their specific business areas.* Liaison with business units to ensure the policies and procedures are being implemented and are consistent with the department's expectations.* Collaborates with Communications and Product Development as new products are created to ensure manuals and process flow charts are created for all new products.* Liaison with Legal Affairs to ensure consistent reviews of legal questionnaires submitted by applicants and vendors, utilizing Lexis Nexis (or other comparable products) and other resources to determine whether the applicant/vendor has any history that would justify disqualification or debarment. May assist with such legal reviews, including interpreting findings and making recommendations, especially when demand is high.* Identifies opportunities for improvement and works with peers to implement process improvements, tracks open items through final resolution, and manages reporting of program status, transactions, and statistics.* Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.* Must complete annual and semiannual self-assessment as required.* Performs other duties or special projects, as assigned.QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities* Must possess advanced research ability and information technology skills* Knowledge of or ability to understand and communicate complex program legislation, rules & requirements* Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints with little or no supervision* Ability to obtain thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the Authority* Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and EDA staff* Ability to understand and learn details of a highly regulated environment in order to meet all requirements for compliance* Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff* Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce and the ability to learn new software packagesRequired QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements* Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related fields, and/or equivalent experience; Juris doctor or other advanced degree preferred* Minimum seven years' experience in business, accounting, finance, legal analysis and/or project management* Experience reviewing legal documents and use of third-party legal software (e.g. Lexis-Nexis)* Knowledge of financial principles, public policy and tax credit incentives* Experience with compliance reportingAdvanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experiencePhysical Demands* Minimal* Ability to work outside normal business hours, as neededTravel* As necessary to events, meetings, businesses, etc.Certificates and Licenses Required* Valid driver's licenseNoteThe examples of work for this title are for illustrative purposes only.
