Job Description:
Private Equity Associate
This role serves dual capacity for Large corporate and their
holding companies, as well as a strategic resource for the
Chairman's family office. Reporting directly to the Chairman of the
company, the associate will manage and monitor existing assets to
ensure optimal outcomes for potential future liquidity events,
deploy capital from its existing balance sheet, and prepare for
future portfolio allocation post-liquidity events. This position
will have a high level of visibility with senior-level executives
and investors and will require substantial autonomy, integrity, and
critical thinking with a highly results-oriented mindset. Specific
areas of responsibility:
Operating Company Asset Management:
- Support the Chairman with monthly financial and KPI reporting on
Corporate and its holding company positions
- Prepare financial analyses as directed, and perform strategic
research for the IT services landscape (market, competitor, and
internal business analysis)
Capital deployment:
- Source, evaluate, underwrite, and manage new and existing
investments
- Establish a structured approach to category and deal evaluation,
underlying the thesis and rationale behind the company's thematic
categories for investment
- Build new and leverage existing network of investors (VC, PE,
family offices, and investment banks) for deal flow and
co-investment opportunities relevant to the areas of investment
- Lead commercial, financial, legal, and operational due diligence,
owning the commercial, operational, and financial returns analysis,
and working with accounting and legal advisors for third-party
support
- Maintain visibility into investments, cultivating relationships
with management teams and co-investors
Future Portfolio allocation:
- Plan for future liquidity events, including tax planning,
preparation, and capital allocation
Desired Education and Experience
- MBA preferred, Bachelor's degree in business OR finance or
related field
- Previous experience in working with Private Equity, investment
banking OR strategy consulting companies
- Demonstrated strong financial acumen and ability to build
financial models
- Executive presence with strong presentation and communication
skills
- Strong critical thinking abilities and creativity in financial
approaches
- Flexibility and ability to balance multiple projects
simultaneously
- Proven hard worker with considerable ambition and drive
- Collaborative
- Quick learner
