Job Description:

Our controller is a senior-level financial position that oversees all the organization's accounting activities. The controller manages the full scope of the company's accounting records, dictating how they're kept and where they're stored. The controller assembles the organization's budget, making sure line items are in line with the year's revenue projections. One of the controller's main duties is preparing financial statements and reports. The controller ensures that these statements and reports are issued on time and that they adhere to all pertinent legal requirements. -Responsibilities

• Prepare reports that summarize and forecast the Company's business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Formulates and administers financial policies and procedures, including the establishment and maintenance of fiscal controls and safeguarding of Company assets, including the maintenance of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Include balance sheet accounts and revenue and expense management
• Create and update internal control policies to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
• Compare actual performance with sales and operating plans (as well as budgeted amounts currently performing) including the use of departmental KPI's and discuss with management monthly. Monitor metrics monthly
• Interpret operating results as they affect the organization and make specific recommendations that will result in cost reduction and profit improvement.
• More in-depth creation of budgets (zero-based) with supporting schedules and departmental budget detail. Review with and seek final approval from management
• Create targets for departmental KPI's in conjunction with team leaders and seek approval from COO/Integrator -
• Evaluate the effectiveness of TEAMS and TEAMS BI. Train on use for the creation of meaningful daily/weekly/monthly reports
• Hire, train, and retain accounting staff (interns, other team members)
• Analyze profit (loss) per job and create a methodology for capitalizing on excellent job performance
• Update budget for significant changes, create rolling and zero-based budgeting process
• Streamline the Board package for ease of understanding
• Work with HR to streamline payroll
• Proactively create efficiencies in the finance dept.
• Create a comprehensive monthly analysis with detail of variances to budget and YOY differences to help improve operational efficiency and promote continued growth
• Work closely with Sales and Operations with financial analysis and make recommendations to support the business plan.
• Help support short- and long-term operational strategy through effective proactive communicationThere are certain skills that a potential candidate should have to be successful as a controller, such as those that allow them to coordinate with others and multitask effectively.   • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environmentWe require a deep knowledge of accounting, so the person in this role has a minimum of 7 years of senior-level accounting experience. A bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, or finance is required, a master's degree or CPA certification is a plus. -
