Job Summary:Sr. Financial Analyst, Controller will provide controlling support within the Vaccines & Gen Meds OpEx perimeter in North America, including preparation of budgets and forecasts (Strategic Plan / Budget / F1 / F2 / Quarterly Landings), monthly closings (accruals, expense reviews, scorecards), project approval and tracking, and other financial planning & analysis activities on a timely basis. Selected candidate will work closely with the leads of each function to drive results and help them control their forecasts / budgets. Primary Roles and Responsibilities will reside around the Promotion, Medical, and Sales force functions including personnel, incentive compensation, fleet, allocations and outside services, bonus accruals, general expenses, CapEx and process improvements.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Develop expense budgets/forecasts for the functions/perimeters defined in the Job Summary; Identify risks and opportunities that affect the achievement of these forecasts; Track assumptions built into budget/forecasts.Tracking of headcount on a monthly basis and comparing to budgeted and forecasted vacancy rates, including trend analysis for key drivers of changeAssist Function and Finance leads with all financial issues including the validation of projected ROI's, trade off decisions and recommendations on strategic cuts when necessaryClose the books and present monthly results to business partners on a timely basis. This includes:Booking journal entries and preparing account analysisValidation of accrualsPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations providing a clear explanation of balance fluctuationsAssist with providing monthly commentary to explain variances between actual results and / or budget / forecasts. This includes:Consolidate monthly actuals data in central tool (TM1) - From local SAP data, Magnitude, etc.Provide support for the monthly Performance reports and analysis - North America OPEX reporting to Sales Force Teams and Finance LeadsPrepare monthly presentation highlighting the Sales Force headcount and OPEX actuals vs. the latest budget or forecast for Vaccines therapeutic areas and review with all business partners.Address any data, project, analytical needs from the respective Functional Teams on an ongoing basis in order to aid in good, timely business decisionsLead the effort to standardize and streamline personnel and allocation processes across Vaccines and Gen Meds Finance.Educate client groups on all aspects of financial policies and processes to ensure full complianceEnsure compliance with pertinent SOX controlsApprove project spend and ensuring projects are budgeted properly, challenging where necessaryAssist in preparation of SPE Executive Summaries for all projects requiring Corporate approvalAd hoc projects as required, including ROI and determining the right investment within financial perimeter.Education:A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with an area of specialization in Finance or Accounting is required. CPA or advanced degree is preferred.Skills:RequiredA minimum of 3 years of diversified financial controlling / accounting experience.Strong working experience with Excel.Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solver and proven experience working collaboratively across multiple internal/external stakeholders is required.Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skillsProactively challenges the status quo and investigates issues independently and as a teamThe position will be required to manage a considerable amount of change as the new structure is built, new processes are defined, and the position evolves. A tolerance for ambiguity and willingness to accept change as part of overall process.
