Senior Director, Patient Support Program Innovation- Princeton, NJ

Summary/Scope:
The Senior Director, Patient Support Program (PSP) Innovation is
responsible advancing BMS's mission to provide optimal support to
patients throughout their access and treatment journeys involving
our products. The primary goal of this role is to identify industry
best practices as well as novel and disruptive approaches that can
improve the ability of BMS to meet its goal of supporting patients.
The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and managing
PSPs, including field-deployed teams ( i.e., field reimbursement
programs) and will be an expert in the latest technological
innovations with patient support approaches.
The Senior Director plays a hands-on role in facilitating patient
support innovation, particularly in critical launches, by
connecting multi-disciplined and functional areas of VAP, channel
marketing, finance, business analytics, marketing, sales, market
access, commercial learning, legal and compliance as well as
external vendors.
The Senior Director will operate from a "center of excellence"
model of partnership with internal matrix partners both inside
Patient Access Support Services and within the broader BMS matrix,
and will carry ongoing strategy for "cross brand" items such as
Copay, Vendor Strategy, Quality, Technology (i.e., eBV, eHR) in
partnership with functional PASS vertical BU owner peers, and lead
implementation of new initiatives as they are handed off to
functional PASS owner peers.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the
following:
Deep understanding of how to identify and address the barriers
patients experience in regard to obtaining their prescribed
medication.
Profound caring for helping patients through emotional, physical,
and financial challenges at every part of their patient journey on
BMS products.
Strong desire to improve patient support productivity through smart
education and nimble engagement.
Provide strong thought leadership to help BMS deliver on the goals
and expectations for patient support at BMS.
Provide a strategic vision for designing next generation,
innovative PSPs, including field-deployed access and reimbursement
managers, and incorporating technology to engage with patients
through their access journeys.
Monitor policy developments to ensure that BMS is well informed and
appropriately prepared for the evolving government oversight,
regulatory environment, legal, and reputational landscape
surrounding manufacturer-sponsored PSPs.
Provide guidance for critical customer issues, access and program
performance trends that are escalated and ensure follow through to
resolution.
Serve as a strategic planning resource to PASS, VAP, and brand
teams in developing patient support approaches.
Identify new potential patient support services, program
enhancements, technology approaches, and operational
efficiencies.
Understand how to navigate within a matrix and manage the
infrastructure to coordinate resources and align efforts between
both franchises.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Recognized profile in the industry as a thought leader in patient
support and documented ability to engage Senior Leadership on
patient-focused support solutions.
Strong, demonstrated track record of connecting and combining
ideas, designing pilots and metrics, and driving novel ideas to
practical solutions across patient support teams.
Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills
required; must be adaptable, flexible and able to work well within
a team and relate effectively with people at all levels of the
organization including Senior Leadership.
Able to inspire a large team to excel by fostering a climate of
energy, excitement and personal accountability.
Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous situations
Understanding of the complex US legal, regulatory, and compliance
regulations and guidelines.
Ability to partner with key internal stakeholders to understand
BMS' key objectives, and to drive plans that achieve or exceed
these.
Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with a demonstrated track
record working with cross-functional teams.
Ability to analyze data to drive decision-making.
Able to effectively manage competing priorities with strong sense
of urgency.
Ability to think creatively / innovatively striving for solutions
to access issues.
Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and
anticipate problems.
Ability to influence across functions to gain consensus on
solutions.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $231,000 -
289,000 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on
eligibility). The starting pay takes into account characteristics
of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated
