IT1.5.6.1 - Senior Business Analyst for IT Business Solutions

The section IT Business Solutions RI P&C delivers business value through management of IT products including execution of change projects, and delivery of agile IT project and product management, application development and IT operational support. The product and project portfolio of IT Business Solutions RI P&C covers all underwriting, pricing and claims management solutions for all Non-Life Reinsurance lines of business in the Americas.

To complement our teams of recognized IT experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. The Subsection IT1.5.6.1 IT BS RI P&C NA is responsible for the IT account management for Non-Life Reinsurance Underwriting, Underwriting Workflows and Claims as well as the responsibility for maintenance and development of the corresponding IT systems. To strengthen our Princeton, NJ based team we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with a strong focus on requirements engineering.

YOUR JOB

  • Leading and supporting the analysis of reinsurance underwriting related business processes, identification and initiation of business process improvements in close collaboration with business stakeholders and technical architecture
  • Providing key analytical skills to discover and understand major business problems, document the requirements for IT systems both as text and models
  • Creating and managing the business requirements in the product backlog (agile way of working), feature testing and managing user acceptance tests
  • Driving the alignment, assessment, and prioritization of identified demands within the respective business units and thus leading and driving the related project and product backlogs together with project management
  • Ensuring a consistent, integrated and resilient target system and data landscape to enable cost efficient digital businesses YOUR PROFILE
    • University degree, preferably in Computer Engineering / IT or similar qualification
    • Understanding of reinsurance core business process including experience in managing various stakeholders
    • Demonstrable and solid experience in analysis of business demands, deriving of system requirements and translating into system solutions
    • Several years of experience in IT, preferably in application development and hence in-depth knowledge of the processes of the entire software development and product life cycle in an agile mode
    • Strong analytical, facilitation and presentation skills
    • Experience in implementing data input management and workflow solutions would be preferable
    • Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business process improvements
    • Several years of and demonstrable experience in documenting use cases, user stories, including modeling in e.g. UML using Sparx Enterprise Architect
    • Consulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing
    • A high degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master the various tasks are essential
    • Excellent understanding of reinsurance core business processes including experience in managing various stakeholders
    • Business acumen - able to easily grasp business topics and to view and present things from a business perspective rather than IT
    • Fluent spoken and written English
    • Ability to work hybrid from the Princeton, NJ office 2-3 times a week
