finance professional with a passion for making a difference? We are
seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Finance to join
our executive team. This individual will play a critical role in
strategic decision making and operations as we continue to enhance
our quality programming and build capacity. This is a tremendous
opportunity for a finance leader to maximize and strengthen the
internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.
Responsibilities: As the VP of Finance, you will be responsible for
the following: 1. Financial Planning: Develop robust financial
models and analysis to support strategic initiatives, growth
strategies, and potential new business opportunities. 2. Reporting:
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process; administer
and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and
changes and produce high-quality financial reports. 3. Analysis:
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual
results with plans and forecasts. 4. Budgets: Develop and manage
annual and multi-year budgets that are adequate for the
organization's needs including preparation of periodic budget
forecasts. 5. Forecasting: Provide a financial forecast, identify
trends, and present financial metrics while overseeing the
organization's financial performance against both the annual budget
and the company's long-term strategy. 6. Operations: Develop and
implement effective operational strategies that align with the
organization's goals and objectives. Qualifications: The ideal
candidate will possess the following qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s
degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required,
MBA or related advanced degree preferred. 2. A minimum of 10 years
of overall professional experience; ideally 6 years of broad
financial and operations management experience. 3. Non-profit
experience with a thorough understanding of non-profit accounting,
including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and
reporting. 4. The ability to strategize and produce useful
financial reports. 5. Experience in a senior financial management
role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development
and implementation of creative financial management strategies. 6.
Significant experience in or knowledge of non-profit accounting,
including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and
reporting. 7. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and
interpersonal skills. 8. Excellent analytical and abstract
reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills. 9. Experience
in a complex nonprofit that has multiple programs and funding
sources will be highly desirable. The VP of Finance will be a
seasoned and mature leader with at least 5 years of broad finance
experience, ideally beginning in audit, followed by experience
gathering and evaluating financial information and making
actionable recommendations to senior leadership. They will ideally
have experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control,
and reporting) for a complex nonprofit with multiple funding
sources including government (federal and state) contracts.
