Position Summary This role will be responsible for leading all efforts directed at the patient and consumer customer segments, and lead a broad cross-functional matrix team, including our Alliance partner, to ensure both short and long term strategic goals for ELIQUIS are met. This role will also have one direct report and report into the Vice President of US ELIQUIS Marketing. Responsibilities

  • Leading overall Consumer/Patient strategic choice-making, including but not limited to business opportunity assessment, segment analysis and prioritization, communication channel optimization, and tactical portfolio management
  • Ensure excellence in execution across a wide array of strategic and tactical initiatives, including an extensive brand investment in mass media, both branded and in educational spaces
  • Multichannel plan development (media and non-media), metrics and optimization, PR campaign oversight, direct report management and experience with internal and external stakeholder groups (Alliance, Community sales team on patient support pieces, Hospital team collaboration on discharge pieces for patients etc.)
  • Lead the creative and message evolution of the Direct-to-Consumer campaign for treated, diagnosed and undiagnosed AFib and DVT/PE patients across multiple touchpoints (e.g. TV, Radio, Digital, Social, Point of Care, Telehealth)
  • Lead market expansion strategy evolution with Consumers across AFib and DVT/PE indications in collaboration with Strategy and Operations, HCP and Payor Marketing and Alliance counterparts
  • Partner with creative and media agencies, business insights and analytics, market research, finance, regulatory, legal, medical and Alliance counterparts in the development, implementation and evaluation of Consumer strategies and tactics
  • Collaborate with HCP marketing and field teams to enable the successful pull-through of branded and unbranded patient support materials--
  • Develop and recommend changes to full portfolio of patient and consumer marketing A&P investments, leveraging internal and external networks and agencies, while coordinating and negotiating across the Alliance
  • Oversee development of patient-level market research, and other strategic research projects, and develop specific insights in order to inform strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all key functions, including but not limited to Sales, Medical, BI&A, Legal, Finance, and Regulatory
  • Lead the development and retention of a world-class patient marketing organization
  • Conduct and ensure all aspects of business in compliance with BMS' values, policies, SOPs, and the laws, regulations and codes that apply to our business. Skills/Knowledge Required
    • MBA or other Advanced Degree Preferred.
    • 8-10 years of pharmaceutical experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing experience; prior consumer marketing experience, particularly in consumer packaged goods preferred but not required
    • Highly collaborative approach leveraging multiple influence styles
    • Relentless focus on Innovation to identify and capitalize on new sources of brand growth through both competitive differentiation and market growth
    • Demonstrated personal and brand adaptability to dynamic external and internal environments
    • Breadth of strong general leadership skills and demonstration of other Values of Accountability, Inclusion, Integrity, Passion and Urgency
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to a range of audiences from small internal teams to senior executives to large field teams--
    • Exceptional marketing analytics, insights and problem-solving capabilities
    • Knowledge and experience in navigating the US regulatory approval process and other relevant codes of practice desirable
    • Individual should have proven track record demonstrating breadth and depth across marketing competencies and exemplary achievement of performance objectives.
    • Proven track record of effectively and efficiently driving performance within a matrix organization with strong organizational and interpersonal skills and proven project management experience to drive performance
    • Understanding of the broader cardiovascular marketplace across the care continuum is preferred, but not mandatory
    • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and handle complexity
    • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, influencing skills
    • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing external resources, including Advertising agencies.
