Job Summary:The Director of Marketing, Global Vascular Closure (GVCD) is responsible for building and executing comprehensive marketing plans to 1) ensure current Terumo Interventional Systems (TIS) products achieve revenue and operating profit targets and, 2) focus on bringing future products and technologies to market to further advance Terumo's market position by growing sales and operating profit. This position is responsible for leading a team of marketing professionals responsible for the day-to-day aspects of product marketing, as well as the upstream planning activities of the business. In the US, the Director of Marketing, GVCD must build successful partnerships with sales, develop relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and must be able to modify strategies and tactics when necessary based on voice of customer and emerging market trends. Responsible for gathering global market feedback to contribute to strategy development and portfolio decisions, build marketing tools relevant for major growth markets, and help facilitate the sharing of best practices between different regions of the globe. In addition, the Director of Marketing, Global Vascular Closure oversees execution of important commercial processes and the development of Global Franchise Goals across the business to enhance performance of the overall franchise. The position is responsible for establishing the global vision for the franchise, identifying new revenue producing opportunities (organic growth, M&A), and implementing strategies to achieve these goals with a strong understanding of the different drivers of value between each global region. A strong operational component is required, necessitating the need to manage the business operation, adopt business strategies to achieve efficiencies, economies, and enhanced profitability. Key to the success of this position is the ability to influence direction across the business, operation, and manufacturing matrix. 1. Responsible for developing marketing strategies and programs for the US and modifying as necessary to ensure that revenue and operating profits meets plan for assigned products.2. Develop annual marketing strategic and operational plans for the US.3. Appropriately manage assigned US marketing budget to oversee the development and introduction of promotional strategies, advertising campaigns, and sales materials; measures ROI and makes adjustment to strategies as needed to achieve the overall business objectives.4. Analyze sales trends and results in the US through effective forecasting techniques and work with manufacturing partners to ensure adequate product inventory is available to meet sales demand. 5. With Product managers in the US, develop new product launch plans and strategies and oversee their execution, and where possible establish global consistency in launch efforts as appropriate. 6. Ensure US commercial alignment across key stakeholders including the field sales force, ISS, Corporate Accounts, Field Clinical Group, and Professional & Clinical Education.7. Conduct market and competitive research for the US and global markets to stay abreast of current market trends. Develop and implement marketing strategies and plans to address emerging trends and competitor threats. 8. Ensure pertinent information regarding marketing tactics, competitive threats, etc. is clearly and effectively communicated to the field sales force and global markets in a timely manner. 9. Establish global franchise goals to support operational efficiencies and review global strategic plan across all regions to identify growth opportunities on units and/or pricing.10. Manage the global claims matrix and global patient IFU/patient card information to ensure global compliance is maintained.11. Establish TMC-wide relationships with all functions that support VCD Franchise Goals and VCD Champions in addition to global regional relationships with all major marketing/business leaders, in conjunction with the global product manager.12. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all TMC Quality Systems requirements. This includes but is not limited to the prompt recognition and forwarding of customer complaints (i.e. adverse events, product performance reports, etc.) to Quality Assurance (QA), and by ensuring all promotional messaging (i.e. branding strategies, product claims, etc.) and materials (i.e. literature) discussed or presented to customers are clinically accurate and adhere to AdvaMed/MedTech Europe and similar guidelines and Terumo's policy on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals. Maintain strong knowledge of and adherence to regulations regarding promotional material content and control. Follow procedures for good clinical practices and Design Control when participating in new product development and clinical activities. Fully adhere to all applicable FDA regulations, international guidelines and Terumo's policies at all times. Establish and promote a work environment amongst co-workers and direct reports that supports compliance with the TMC Quality System and Terumo's policies.13. Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned. Position Requirements:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) - Must possess strong leadership skills to lead, mentor and develop others (direct reports and cross functional teams), strategic and analytical thinking, financial forecasting and budgeting. Excellent interpersonal, selling, communication and presentation skills. - Position requires in-depth knowledge of the markets in which Terumo's products compete. - Must possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to influence others on issues of critical importance to the organization. - Must possess strong strategic and analytical thinking skills as well as strong business acumen including financial forecasting and budgeting. - Demonstrated success in developing and executing complex marketing strategies and plans for current and future products. - Must be able to clearly articulate and defend brand plans and marketing strategies to Sr. Management. - Must possess strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to develop relationships with KOLs, customers, sales and new product development teams. - Requires the ability to recognize and solve customer marketing issues and present products to market so as to enhance sales and company profitability. - Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including advanced PowerPoint skills. Background Experiences - Requires a Bachelor's degree in business management or life sciences and 10-15 years of related work experience, including at least 8 years of marketing experience. - A master's degree MBA is preferred. - A minimum of 4 years of people management experience with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams. - Prior experience in operational marketing roles is a must. - Experience in upstream strategic product development planning and downstream execution is required.
