Berkeley Heights, NJ Direct-Hire Monday through Friday – 1st
Shift, 6AM or 7AM start time $34.84 to $40.61 Depending on
experience classification and possession or pursuit of Black Seal
HP Boiler Operator License) GENERAL MECHANIC – BLACK SEAL BOILER
OPERATOR RESPONSIBILTIES Responsible for performing all functions
necessary for plant maintenance in support of the overall site
operations. Performs a variety of tasks including preventive,
scheduled, and emergency mechanical maintenance and is a
multi-craft mechanic with an emphasis on rotating equipment. Ensure
workplace safety by participating in the Behavior Based Safety
Observations while practicing and following all site safety
policies, guidelines, and procedures. Complies with all Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures.
Provides maintenance to plant utilities, equipment and rotating
equipment repairs including American National Standards Institute,
ANSI pump repair, mechanical seal installation/trouble shooting,
alignment methods, bearing fits/tolerances and automation equipment
trouble shooting and repair. Performs centrifugal pump repair
inclusive of mechanical seal installation and other rotating
equipment repair involving gear reduction drives, agitators and
blowers. Executes additional general maintenance and repair duties
including industrial pipe fitting (PVC and black iron), heat
exchanger repair, rigging/crane use, etc. Identifies, diagnoses,
and communicates issues that arise with equipment. Completes
preventative maintenance duties and records critical information
appropriately. Maintains outstanding housekeeping and 5S. Performs
daily activities independently with minimal supervision or more
complex projects with a team such as other maintenance personnel or
Site Engineers while still maintaining communication with key
stakeholders. Performs daily activities independently with minimal

Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements.
Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents,
and near misses promptly. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or
equivalent required. Minimum two (2) years of related industrial
maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required,
chemical manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with Boiler
maintenance and repair required, Black Seal Boiler Operator
experience required, Boiler Operator’s license strong plus. Piping
experience and the ability to lay out and install PVC and black
iron piping. Pump experience and the ability to rebuild
centrifugal, lobe and air pumps. Overall plant knowledge of
equipment designations and systems. Demonstrated knowledge of
rotating equipment repairs, specifically American National
Standards Institute, (ANSI) pump repair, mechanical seal
installation/trouble shooting, alignment methods, bearing
fits/tolerances, etc. Ability to utilize dial indicators, calipers
and other measuring tools. Demonstrated knowledge of welded repair
techniques for both structural and pipe materials. Proficiency with
Computerized Maintenance Management System CMMS for creating and
completing work orders. Experience wearing required personal
protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hard hat,
steel toe shoes, gloves and a respirator. Excellent understanding
of safety practices, specifically lockout tagout (LO/TO), Job
Safety Analysis, (JSA) and best practices for maintenance tasks.
Willingness to work a non-standard shift, weekends, and/or
overtime, as required Completion of an apprenticeship program a
