Job Description:
A respected Long Island-based general contractor is seeking a
seasoned Superintendent to oversee commercial ground-up
construction projects from sitework through closeout. The role
offers full ownership of the field and the chance to lead impactful
builds that shape the local business landscape. Client Details This
general contractor is known for delivering quality ground-up and
site development projects across Long Island and the outer
boroughs. With a strong pipeline of retail, healthcare, education,
and light industrial work, they maintain a strong field-first
culture that prioritizes safety, accountability, and schedule
execution. Description Lead all on-site construction activities for
commercial ground-up builds Oversee subcontractors, enforce site
safety, and ensure adherence to project plans and timelines
Maintain the construction schedule and coordinate with Project
Manager on critical path items Run daily job site meetings, manage
logistics, and maintain quality control Conduct inspections and
maintain site reports, punch lists, and progress documentation
Ensure all work complies with local codes, permits, and
environmental requirements Profile 5 years of experience as a
Superintendent on ground-up commercial construction projects Proven
ability to lead site operations from excavation through CO OSHA
30-hour certification required Strong knowledge of local
subcontractors, building codes, and sequencing Excellent
leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills Ability
to read blueprints and proactively solve problems in the field
Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6)
