Business Applications Engineer -Healthcare IT
Location: Princeton, NJ
Type: Full Time/Direct hire
The Business Applications Engineer will be part of the Business
Application Management (BAM) team within the Global IT department.
In this role, you will support and maintain critical business
applications in Production environment and compliance with
applicable procedures and regulatory requirements. Collaborates
with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure continued
steady state operations of such business applications.

Application Management (BAM).
Serve as a technical lead for multiple IT applications (e.g. LIMS,
ELN, SDMS, etc.). Must possess a strong ability to balance
structure & discipline with agility in the support of solutions
Supports Research/ Innovation/ Development (R&I/R&D) Lab,
Clinical, Med Affairs, Commercial, CMC applications
System implementation, change, validation, upgrades - LIMS
(LabVantage), ELN (electronic lab notebook) etc.
Triage, process, communicate, escalate, and resolve assigned
application-related tickets using Service Now
Responsible for managing day-to-day user cases, including (but not
limited to) new user requests, resolution of systems issues, and
troubleshooting of various business applications
Contribute to all phases of solution delivery and support:
identification, evaluation, implementation, testing, and support to
meet and exceed business requirements
Interact and partner with business users, infrastructure teams, and
security/QA in the operation and maintenance of business
applications across several business units
Implement new applications and technology platforms, ensuring
Create new functionality to suit business needs from the labs to
Keep the Application System Landscape (ASL) up to date
Advise, inform, and support the application system owners and
super-users within and act as a first line of support for the
business users for business application related issues or
Work within the GxP regulatory framework and update the relevant
documentation following applicable departmental procedures
Manage system maintenance logs, coordinate with the Change
Manager/CAB and inform users about outages and planned maintenance
Provide periodic reports on tasks, monthly financial reports and
vendor issues/SLAs to the Business Application Management (BAM)
Lead prioritization, categorization and remediation of any
production deviations and CAPAs
Conduct root cause analysis, in collaboration with other
cross-functional stakeholders to identify potential solutions to
issues and to prevent future problems.
Contribute to knowledge base articles, templates, reusable
BS/ MS Scientific/ Technical degree level qualification (e.g.
Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
5 years' + experience coordinating application-based activities
within a Life Science focused organization.
Demonstrated history of successfully working with business
Ability to interpret a business problem into a technical solution
and articulate it back to the business stakeholders.
Strong experience in liaising and managing third party vendor
managed services where required to support the application
portfolio and integration layer.
Ability to triage, process, communicate, escalate, and resolve
assigned application-related tickets using Service Now or similar
Experience with KPI performance monitoring and SLA management
across internal service desk and vendors
Experience of the Application Lifecycle Experience from initiation
through to decommission for a broad range of business
Proven experience of Agile management and DevOps.
Demonstrated knowledge of the ITIL framework and working in a
ticket/SLA based environment (e.g. ServiceNow, JIRA, and Service
Experience working with GxP regulations, procedures. Particularly
around change management, period reviews, internal audits.
Experience in and ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and
delivery value in a dynamic environment.
Extensive experience in both structured and agile SDLC
Conceptual and analytical thinker; able to understand, analyze, and
synthesize complex business and technology issues and

personal integrity, and teamwork abilities.
