Our passion and creative drive ensure that we are an innovative force - across the globe at over 70 TRUMPF locations.SummaryThis individual shall work in the Semiconductor Development Group and be responsible for the development of GaAs wafer fabrication process, including mask design, photolithographic process, wet and dry etching, dielectric deposition and etching, p- and n-metal deposition, plating, alloying, lapping, polishing, scribing and cleaving into semiconductor laser diode, and visual inspection. The individual is required to be a self-starter, work independently and be motivated to come up with innovative ideas and to achieve accurate and high-quality results.Principle Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work in this position.   • Coordinate wafer fabrication for research and development projects including scheduling, preparation of lot travelers, wafer start documents and technical ownership of development wafers within production area
  • Developing photolithography mask sets for new wafer products and improvements on existing ones
  • Propose new fabrication techniques and execute projects to demonstrate enhanced performance in product utilizing these improvements
  • Responsible to develop and improve critical processes for use in existing and/or future products
  • Responsible to analyze and organize data, draw correlations from complex process interactions and present results in a concise clear manner
  • Responsible for driving transfer of new wafer products into production as required
  • Support development and production engineers on many aspects of product development and production support activities
  • Technical lead on working wuth outsource wafer fabrication vendorsPosition Requirements
    • At least 3 years hands on experience of semiconductor laser or other III-V semiconductor based wafer fabrication processes
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of semiconductor device design,performance, testing
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent problem solving skills based on an analytical approach to tasks.
    • SPC, DOE, and additional experience in wafer fabrication processes (thin film deposition, etching, photolithography, mounting, testing, etc) is a plus.
    • Experience in a volume manufacturing environment is a strong plus.Education
