globe at over 70 TRUMPF locations. SummaryThe Failure Analysis (FA)
Engineer is responsible for accurate, timely and conclusive failure
mode analysis. The overall objective for this position is to
support the improvement of the quality and reliability of the
TRUMPF Photonics products and their respective processes, and in
this regard to support product development, production, and yield
improvement activities. The FA Engineer has to communicate
effectively with its internal clients, e. g. production, R&D
and quality, and will be driving the FA analysis team and process
towards root-cause. Key Organization Deliverables
- Lead the FA process and the root cause analysis.
- Deliver excellent FA results and effectively communicate
results.
- Delegate FA to external analysis suppliers if necessary.
- Effectively support cross-functional analysis teamwork.
- Update customers and deliver analysis reports.
- Mentor less experienced staff members facilitating successful
completion of lab assignments.

Principle Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe statements below are

- Systematically solve FA requests for internal and external
customers.
- Use FA tools/fault isolation techniques to deliver conclusive
results.
- Execute FA projects, incl. data collection, development of
conclusions, presentation of results.
- Support and respond to customer FA requests, deliver conclusive
FA reports.
- Offer advice/guidance on technical matters relating to FA.
- Initiate corrective and preventative action concerning product
and process deficiencies.
- Meet cycle time and quality commitments
- Provide periodic updates on FA results.Failure Analysis
Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with extensive related work experience in
physics, material science, optical, electrical or mechanical
engineering, chemical engineering,. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of FA experience in optoelectronics
manufacturing environments, preferably in high-power semiconductor
lasers. Ideally strong knowledge and experience of wafer processes
and solid background in semiconductor materials/device
characterization.
- Good hands-on analytical skills and experience in some/all the
following: Sample preparation and cross-sectioning desired (I.e.,
SEM, FIB, TEM, X-Ray, CSAM, Raman, FTIR, Auger, AFM, SIMS, XPS,
IV).
- Experience with advanced analysis techniques desired
(FIB/STEM/TEM/EDS/Raman/CL/TOFF SIMMs/AES etc..).
- Well organized with the ability to work on multiple tasks in
parallel while maintaining clear focus and priority.
- Ability to organize information and clearly communicate.
