The Director will be responsible for identifying and coordinating opportunities for Data Science and Digital Health to inform and add value to Neuroscience programs, in areas including target discovery, clinical feasibility, clinical outcomes and new patient populations. The Director will do this through excellence in business planning, coordination and leadership; and by partnering closely with the Head of Neuroscience Data Science and JRD Central Data Science. Additional responsibilities include managing Neuroscience Data Science governance, executive management reviews; and decision support; supporting Innovation Center, Cross Enterprise, and DAS in due diligence activities relating to Data Science, and integration of external Data Science programs; and process improvement and development activities as a member of the Neuroscience Strategic Portfolio Integration Team. The Director will report to the Vice President, Portfolio Strategy and Data Science Integration.Essential Functions* Partner closely with the Head of Neuroscience Data Sciences and their team to manage the Data Sciences portfolio of programs in Neuroscience. Be a strategic thought partner for the team, and be able to represent them in discussions with portfolio business partners and JRD Central Data Science as necessary.* Liaise with Disease and Pathway Area leaders to ensure that Neuroscience Data Sciences portfolio strategy is defined, reviewed, communicated, refreshed, and aligned with TA strategy.* Optimize engagement with the Disease Areas and Compound Development Teams, Discovery, and Development, and JRD Central Data Science, in order to formulate, coordinate and deploy strategies for Data Science and Digital Health to inform and add value to Neuroscience programs, in areas including target discovery, clinical feasibility, clinical outcomes and new patient populations.* Ensure that Data Sciences opportunities identified in partnership with the Compound Development Teams are aligned with Neuroscience strategy, have a clear value proposition, and a plan that will deliver defined outcomes that will accelerate or optimize delivery of patient focused, promotable drugs.* Ensure operational excellence in the end to end strategy of Data Science approaches within Neuroscience Compound Development Programs.* Assist the CDTs and SDTs to identify, plan, track, change manage and deliver on team and portfolio Data Science goals and objectives on time and with quality, monitoring and helping to coordinate mitigation of operational issues.* Provide transparency, reporting, risk mitigation and forward planning to Data Science teams and their stakeholders.* Work with SDTLs, Finance, GCDO and other functions to plan and prioritize cross-functional budgets and resource assignments for the Neuroscience Data Sciences portfolio.* Provide Data Sciences strategy input, and help teams to develop messaging for, Neuroscience Business Planning, governance and JRD senior management reviews.* Participate in strategic and technical prioritization and reviews of licensing candidates.* As a member of the Neuroscience Strategic Portfolio Integration Team, lead or collaborate in cross-TA process improvement and development activities.QualificationsQualifications* MD, Ph.D. degree, Master's or Bachelor's degree, in relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Computational Chemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology or a related subject area.* 3+ years of experience in the healthcare Data Science and /or Digital Health space.* Direct experience utilizing biological Data Science to drive outcomes is strongly preferred, for example biomarker research, clinical trial feasibility, real world evidence trials, or digital healthcare solutions.* A minimum of 8+ years of progressive business experience, with extensive exposure to the pharmaceutical R&D environment, is required. Neuroscience R&D experience strongly preferred.* Significant experience in leading in a matrix environment and in the analysis and synthesis of complex data, including financial and operational data and metrics.
