This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing, innovative company! The Senior Director of Marketing, PTH, will lead the creation of strategic and tactical marketing plans from development phases through commercialization phases, to ensure the achievement of key business objectives. This individual will have a broad range of marketing responsibilities for hypoparathyroidism. The position is based in Princeton, NJ and will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing for Ascendis Pharma. Position Summary The Senior Director Marketing will demonstrate expert understanding of the marketplace and competitive environment; generate deep customer insights and translate these insights into winning commercial strategies. This role is critical to the company's long-term growth and success. Incumbent serves as the primary point of contact with all key internal and external stakeholders in developing and driving the commercial strategy for TransCon PTH and future product candidates, specific to hypoparathyroidism, assessing and advising Executive Leadership on existing and potential markets, and create marketing and brand plans. She/ he will be responsible for both the execution of the strategic and tactical activities associated with the market development and promotion of TransCon PTH. This includes the development of the long-range strategic marketing plans as well as the creation and roll out of tactical plans including launch planning. Duties will include the development of educational and promotional materials in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the promotions and regulatory compliance committees. Ensuring appropriate application of market research insights will also be key in this role. This individual will be responsible for the creation of the lifecycle management plan. The role will also focus on operational excellence in budget management, agency management, creating and overseeing procedures, systems, and metrics to support marketing operations. She/he will also need to show strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to set the vision and lead through change. She/he should also possess the skills and presence to routinely present and interact with Executive Leadership. Key Responsiblities

  • Establish and communicate the commercial brand vision of TransCon PTH.
  • Implement initiatives that maintain a detailed understanding of key stakeholder needs with a long-range approach to brand planning.
  • Partner with relevant colleagues in the development of market research and analytical projects.
  • Cultivate and appropriately leverage strong external relationships such as thought leaders, key customers, and professional organizations.
  • Partner with Market Access and Medical Affairs teams to develop and leverage appropriate HEOR studies, pricing, value story, messages and materials to support payer- and physician-based access and reimbursement.
  • Define and drive product lifecycle development initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement.
  • Provide proactive commercial support and insight into new product launch planning.
  • Closely monitor competitive activities and develop and implement strategies to proactively overcome competitive threats.
  • Lead the evaluation of strategies to support market access and the long-term growth of the organization.
  • Establish critical commercial objectives and utilizes metrics to drive decision-making and measure success of marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Medical, Regulatory, Legal and Clinical to coordinate commercial strategy.
  • Effectively partner with all key stakeholders such as Sales, Market Access, Commercial Analytics & Operations to ensure successful execution of brand plans
  • Manage P&L and work closely with Finance to ensure alignment around business-planning processes and timelines.
  • Set a positive example for others including demonstrating the Ascendis Pharma values. Requirements
    • 15+ years bio-pharmaceutical industry in commercial roles required (i.e. Marketing, Sales, New Product Development)
    • Proven experience in a Marketing Leadership role, with a track record of driving financial results in highly competitive markets
    • Strong strategic planning experiences which include evaluation and sizing markets, segmentation of markets and customers, development of clinical and economic value propositions and designing of a winning customer model to achieve commercial objectives
    • 5+ years leadership experience, leading marketing teams with P&L responsibility
    • Demonstrated ability to strategically create and implement a multidimensional brand plan including branded and unbranded tools
    • Product launch experience required, with ability to operate in a nimble entrepreneurial environment preferred
    • Collaborative leadership style with ability to influence others
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to Executive Leadership and KOLs
    • Professionalism and high integrity, with the ability to lead by example
    • Knowledge of current legal, regulatory and compliance climate
    • Demonstrated excellence in project management and managing multiple priorities
    • In addition to leading direct reports (anticipated future state), a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
    • Bachelor degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
