Job Overview and Responsibilities * Work with the Global Marketing and Business Development Director, Global Business Directors and Mining Solutions Vice President in creation of the STRAP (Strategic Plan) for the Metal Extraction Products business segment and translate this plan into a market strategy. Develop and implement one and five year action plans for the segment. Identify the major milestones required to grow our market presence in both the long and short term. * Lead the innovation cycle and innovation portfolio for Metal Extraction Products and ensue the new product pipeline is robust and full. Develop a validated needs matrix to guide R&I efforts * Work with Product Management in the pricing strategy; establish new product pricing and analyze pricing of existing products to maximize business profitability. Implement value based pricing models whenever possible. * Work with Product Management to establish appropriate inventory, stocking and production policies; prepare for the introduction of new products. * Develop marketing communication plans for the industry including promotional plans, product literature and communication of strategic and new product initiates. * Collect and synthesize market intelligence and related analysis to guide business opportunities and challenges in the regions. * Establish proactive monitoring and tracking of income statement performance and ensure corrective actions are rapidly planned and implemented to ensure that the segment income statement profitability targets are achieved despite adverse variances occurring. Education and Experience * BS in Science, Engineering or other relevant technical field. * 3 to 6 years sales or marketing experience in mining chemicals or a similar industrial environment. Specific knowledge and experience in solvent extractants is a strong plus. * Strong financial/analytical background coupled with an understanding of income statements and business/marketing management. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. * Competent in the use of classical marketing tools and concepts - market research, market/competitive analysis, value chain analysis, product and technology road mapping, market segmentation, market launch/activation, marketing communication, etc. * Experienced leading and using Innovation Processes and tools to drive new opportunities (products, technologies, services or applications) through a Stage Gate protocol. * Solid Product Management capabilities with experience in price and margin management * High level of technical acumen - ability to rapidly assimilate new products and technologies and dialogue with confidence and competence within the R&D communities - both internally and externally. * Strong strategic and analytical skills applied to selecting and developing best pathways to achieve dramatic growth from internal strengths, technologies and capabilities as well as through alliances, partnerships, mergers or acquisitions. * Collaboration, teamwork and networking skills working internally with Sales, Research and Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and other relevant functions within a fast paced organization. * Exceptional communication skills - effectively, clearly and concisely conveys ideas, concepts and growth opportunities at all levels and functions. * Ability to manage multiple and complex projects - across functions, regions and cultures at all levels of an organization. * Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Goggle suite, Project Management; CRM SalesForce, proprietary market research and data bases. * Entrepreneurial attitude with a bias for action Skills * Leadership/Influence/Coaching * Communication Skills * Financial/business acumen * Initiative/Execution/Bias for Action
