Senior Manager, Market Research, will support Oncology, CNS, and
Rare Disease business franchise in Kyowa Kirin, North America
Business by providing business insights to help the steering of
strategic directions and brand positioning. This role will report
to the Associate Director of Market Research and will contribute to
the development and evolution of this new function within
Commercial Operations. This position will be a strategic partner to
brand teams through active involvement in identifying business
questions and research needs, serving as methodological expert, and
delivering insights that will help inform strategy development,
brand performance, and business planning. This individual will
partner and collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Market Access,
Business Development, Commercial Analytics, Forecasting, and HEOR
to provide market research insights that are aligned with strategic
imperatives.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of primary research
plan for professional, patients and payers including developmental
research (e.g. message tracking, A&U studies, etc.,) and
evaluative research (brand positioning, advertising & promotional
copy, etc.).
- Lead design of an overall market research plan to address brand
and or franchise strategic imperatives, identify appropriate
supplier partners, and foster strong partnerships in the context of
resources, timing and overall project goals.
- Be accountable for conducting research activities in a
compliant manner.
- Integrate primary research insights with analytical insights to
build a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the marketplace
and key business issues within the business franchise units and
translate these into business impact.
- Provide strategic input to help shape strategic and business
plans, brand strategies and new indication launch plans and life
cycle management.
- Focus on key business questions/issues and frame business
problems into research plans.
- Bring an innovative mindset, looking for different or better
ways of approaching challenges
- Apply basic consulting skills, including consultative
listening, problem definition, hypothesis generation, data
analysis, translation to value, and oral and written presentation
for impact.
- Partner across the Commercial Insight & Analytics team to
integrate all information (custom, syndicated, forecasted and
modeled) into strategies and organizational actions that drive
tangible growth in revenue or profit.
- Demonstrate leadership courage in order to set boundaries and
ensure time is spent on the most critical/ high value projects is
critical.
- Stay abreast of emerging healthcare & pharmaceutical industry
trends and assess their potential impact on our franchise business
strategies.
- Act with speed, agility and accountability.
- Cultivate meaningful internal and external partnerships, adding
value and insights for the organization; being insight driven to
uncover important unmet needs.
- Present complex issues in a clear and persuasive manner
effectively communicating recommendations to cross functional teams
and brand team.Position Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced business or
scientific degree is highly preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of Market Research or other relevant work
experience within a pharmaceutical, healthcare and/or bio-tech
industry
- Exceptional, clear, persuasive oral and written communication
skills driven by solid business logic
- Advanced interpersonal and presentation skills
- A highly developed ability to frame and communicate issues in
strategic terms, excellent consultative skills and good business
sense
- Strong knowledge of the design and conduct of a broad array of
primary market research approaches, both quantitative and
qualitative, of all degrees of sophistication
- Proficiency in the use of a wide range of secondary data
sources including, but not limited to: standard sales,
prescription, medical, and promotional audits, as well as general
business and pharmaceutical industry sources of intelligence
- Fluency in IQVIA SMART or Symphony PHAST, strong familiarity
with Data Monitor, Decision Resources, and proficiency in Microsoft
Power Point and Excel.
- Proven experience as an integral member of a high performing
work team
- Data savvy with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while
maintaining high-quality deliveries
- Highly motivated, self-directed & capable of working within
tight deadlines
