Job Description:

The Accounting Manager will support the Controller and have an active role in the maintenance of the general ledger, year-end and month-end closing process, financial statement preparation, and the supervision of the internal accounting team.Responsibilities: --- Account reconciliation and analysis including monthly and quarterly narratives detailing variances. --- -Journal Entries including maintenance of recurring journal entries and allocations. --- -Coordinate the monthly and year end close. --- -Assist in general staff training and development. --- -Plan, coordinate and execute annual financial audit. --- -Assistance in drafting quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures. --- -Maintain the Company's accounting policies and research and interpret existing accounting guidance to develop company-wide accounting policies for existing processes. --- -Develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls --- -Special projects as required.Required Experience --- -Bachelor's degree in accounting --- -CPA a plus --- -Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with previous supervisory experience preferred --- -Strong understanding of STAT and GAAP accounting for insurance companies with an emphasis on property & casualty insurance --- -Excellent communications skills required --- -Experience with Microsoft Office applications --- -Knowledge of general ledger accounting software packages --- - -Able to handle multiple tasks and stay organized
