This role leads the transformation of Brother to become a more sophisticated data culture by infusing data and analytics literacy into the business and fostering a culture of data experimentation, exploration and sharing. In addition to setting the strategy and helping to evolve the culture, this position understands the data needs across the organization and assembling and developing a multi-disciplined team to execute on the strategy to transform data into insights that inform strategy and decision making. This role maturates the core capabilities of the enterprise relating to functions including data management, data governance and data quality, data integration and operations, and applicable tools and architecture.Data Strategy

  • Leverage the value of enterprise information assets and the analytics used to render insights for decision making and reporting
  • Define information strategy practices, lead the creation and assure the ongoing relevance of the company's information strategy in association with the CIO and Board of Directors
  • Establish the governance and quality standards for the organization's data management, insights production, and ensure monitoring, measurement, and compliance across the organization and and increase the maturity of the enterprise data capability and environment
  • Implement business intelligence and analytics solutions, data platform strategy, data architecture and data governance strategy
  • Drive cultural change ensuring data governance initiatives are understood and adopted by the organization data driven culture across the organization, infusing data literacy into the business and fostering a culture of data sharing
  • Lead, influence and change manage transformation efforts across Brother to support a culture of supporting business decisions with quality data and manages data as an enterprise asset
  • Proactively communicate with stakeholders to ensure information needs are formalized and understood and gain their support to ensure that analytics lead to actionable business objectives and strategies
  • Innovate with and expand the organization's research and analytics offerings, keeping up with emerging analytical approaches, skills and technologies
  • Strongly collaborate with Brother's senior leadership from around the business to form and evolve the data strategy for BrotherStaff Skills Management
    • Lead, develop and mentor a collaborative team of professionals in the areas of data governance, data engineering and integration, analytics, reporting and insights---QualificationsEducation
      • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field (Required)
      • Master's Degree in Leadership, a Data-related field of study, or an MBA (Preferred)Minimum 15 Years of Experience
        • Experience building and leading data science organization or practices as well as successful experience advocating for data analytics value across a business and to diverse audiences
        • Experience leading talent with expertise in the design, development, verification and validation of applied, descriptive, prescriptive and predictive analytics, as well as expertise in big data technology infrastructure and environments coupled with business process architecture
        • Experience in managing talent, developing team culture and developing individual members' skillsets through varied experiences and learning
        • Experience in implementing data frameworks and driving data-driven business strategy Software/Technical Skills
          • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
          • Statistical tool sets including but not limited to Spotfire, Tableau, SQL, SAS, R, Python
          • Data Modeling and System Analysis Data Platforms such as EMR, BigTable, KubernetesOther Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
            • Demonstrated experience in big data technology infrastructure and environments coupled with business process architecture. Highly knowledgeable in front-to-back data lifecycle and highly proficient in wide array of data tools and technologies as well as scripting languages. Expertise in the design, development, verification, and validation of applied, descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytics
            • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; abilty to work across business lines at senior levels to influence and effect change to achieve common goals
            • Proven data literacy - ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options in a simple and easy to understand manner
            • Expert communication skills and ability to influence leadership
            • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities; thought leader as well as practical leader in varied applications of data analytics
            • Strong decision-making skills soliciting and objectively considering input from appropriate sources and considering implications of actions on people, processes and technology
            • Proven ability to influence and lead change management efforts across businesses that leads to acceptance and utilization of data driven decision making
            • Agility and ability to adapt approaches that are appropriate for each situation, accepting and adapting to new situations
            • Proven ability to transform conceptual plan into practical application; ability to expertly evaluate organizational needs and balance priorities such as financial, functional, etc.
