Join us and make a difference.As leader in the Patient Advocacy team, this person will be an active contributor to the development of advocacy strategies and will serve as execution lead of advocacy plans for Hematology.This individual will be responsible for managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships including numerous BMS leadership and critical external patient groups.Internally, s/he is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with BMS leadership to ensure strong alignment in business objectives.S/he will also be responsible for building and maintaining strategic Patient Advocacy relationships that are aligned and support new and existing Hematology products.Role & ResponsibilitiesAct as a strategic partner to Commercial, R, Portfolio Strategy and a broader set of related stakeholders including policy and government affairs, other Corporate Affairs functions (i.e. communications), marketing, market leaders, medical, health economics outcomes research, clinical development leads, and Legal).These relationships must be considered and maintained on a regular and often, daily basis to build alignment, drive deliverables and achieve timelines that position BMS as a leading partner in Hematology. Balance all partner needs while keeping patients and patient voice at the center of all actions and counsel.Advise BMS Commercial and R&(E)D leaders by providing the patient voice as it informs products in development, as well as existing products.Prioritize and develop strategic relationships with key patient advocacy and policy organizations and professional medical/nursing/pharmacy societies, with a primary focus on issues affecting patient access to care. Facilitate engagement and collaboration between Patient Advocacy and BMS stakeholders to advance matching strategic priorities and initiatives.Proactively identify and work with leading stakeholders / patient advocacy groups who understand the short and long-term drivers impacting access to care. Identify innovative ideas to support product development, such as increasing patient-centricity in clinical trials and engaging in meaningful dialogue around data.Working with partners in commercial and science communications, develop and lead patient advocacy communications strategies and messaging for existing products and those in development.Work closely with the Executive Director, Patient Advocacy on issues including those related, but not limited to, quality of and access to care for patients, development of advocacy plans, identifying and communicating patient/healthcare quality issues to appropriate cross-functional team members and assisting in the development of multi-disciplinary strategies and tactics to address business issues/needs.Generate innovative advocacy concepts/initiatives and constantly search for novel applications of planned strategies and tactics.RequirementsDemonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong business acumen to interact with and advise BMS business leadershipStrong track record of superior decision making and performance in developing and driving strategic projects, including managing budgetsAbility to build virtual teams and influence all levels of internal and external stakeholdersExcellent written and oral presentation skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and work independently or collaboratively as appropriateKnowledge in Hemato/Onco advocacy is strongly preferredIdeally, candidate should have at least 12-15 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and working with external stakeholders and managing peopleBA or BS required.
