Job Description:
- A key member of the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) team, the
Director (D) GMA serves as one of the global company-wide
scientific experts for the Neuroscience/Psychiatry therapeutic area
and the products under their responsibility
- Actively participates and provides strategic and scientific
input to all medical affairs activities associated with the
development and commercialization of new Neuroscience/Psychiatry
products, particularly working in a close collaboration with
alliance partners
- Develops global brand medical strategies and tactics for
assigned Products, collaborating with, and integrating input from,
functional and cross-functional teams and specifically business
alliance partners.
- Actively contributes to ongoing company research and
development efforts, which may include activities such as the
provision of scientific expertise for pre-clinical and clinical
studies and evaluation of potential licensing candidates
- Actively contributes to the development of the Scientific
Communication strategy plans and materials, including the core
global medical materials, scientific manuscripts, posters, and
symposia presentations, liaising with internal GMA partners and
regional Medical Affairs teams to enhance the global cohesiveness
of scientific content
- Provides expert input into the development of regulatory
filing, market access and brand plans globally in alignment with
Global Medical Affairs strategy, ensuring bi-directional
communication and integration of input between commercial,
clinical, and medical functions
- Ensures scientific accuracy, fair balance and patient first
mindset in public dissemination of information and data globally,
including product labeling and promotional materials.
- Establishes and develops scientific collaborations with
national and international scientific leaders (SLs), ensuring the
integration of their input into the global medical affairs
strategyQualifications and Experience:
- Doctoral Degree (e.g. MD, PhD, PharmD)
- Master's degree in a scientific discipline with at least 5
years of relevant experience (industry and/or academic)
considered
- Cross-functional and project management experience
required
- Clinical, research, and/or medical affairs experience in
Neuroscience/Psychiatry ideal
- Experience in clinical study design, planning and execution an
asset
- Experience of working with a strong alliance partner is an
assetKnowledge
- Strong scientific background (ideally in
Neuroscience/Psychiatry), including knowledge of the current and
emerging treatment landscape
- Solid knowledge of drug development (pre-clinical and clinical)
and of the pharmaceutical industry in general
- An understanding of the company's products, commercialization
strategy, the competition, and the pharmaceutical industry in
general
- Maintains a current awareness of new drug developments in
targeted therapeutic areas
- Solid statistical knowledge with a demonstrated ability to
interpret study findings and communicate appropriately.--Skills
- Ability to interpret and explain scientific data
- Strong writing and presentation skills and demonstrated ability
to effectively communicate with internal and external parties
- Skilled in influencing people
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in working
with the Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
