Basic Function

The Account Manager will plan and direct all activity for assigned Roto sales for established and new accounts for APS USCAN. The Account Manager will manage the growth and existing business for our direct customers. The position will reside in East Coast of USA and be field based. Success in this role will allow opportunities for increased account responsibilities and potential for further advancement in the organization. This position reports to the Associate Director - Distribution & Specialty Powders, USCAN.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To promote and sell APS roto products by interacting with strategic customers.
  • Facilitate sales planning, forecasting, and orders through LYB APS processes in USCAN region.
  • Plan for and participate in weekly team call and strategy sessions between LYB APS process owners and influencers.
  • Develop and execute a territory business strategy with clear objectives and plans in line with strategic business goals. Driving the execution of the strategy will require effective management of customers, multiple influencing parties and offering creative solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of Polymers, Compounding, Grinding and related processes and their applications to specific customer needs and requirements.
  • Commercial Acumen: Quote prices, manage pricing, terms of sales, manage contract needs and actions, and drive targets for growth in line with stated business/sales strategies.
  • Establish lasting relationships with appropriate customer contacts, managed through regular face times, phone contact, conference calls, written correspondence and customer events.
  • Team player: collaborates and coordinates sales activities with Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations Planning, Pricing, Manufacturing, Optimization, and other functional areas to develop information to make recommendations and decisions.
  • Implement pre-call planning for customer visits, including the preparation of an agenda, slide presentations or other support materials needed to support the call objective.
  • Utilize and be proficient in sales software (Microsoft: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. along with and Power BI) to provide customer forecasts, adjust pricing, monitor territory volume performance, and participate in order management. Familiarity with IBP a plus.
  • Consistently meet sales volume plans, targets and margin expectations while managing overall performance consistent with company sales metrics.


    • Four year college degree required (major in business or sciences preferred)
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in sales or related roles
    • 3 years of experience with rotational molding materials or (equivalent plastic raw materials) sales experience.
    • 1 years minimum experience with large buyer clients as lead negotiator in closing significant, high value business.
    • Experienced in forecasting and demand planning.
    • Willing to travel up to 50%.
