Job Description:
The Product Mgr. is responsible for setting and executing the
product and commercialization strategies for our dispenser and
fleet management system solutions. They will manage the product
lifecycle, create a new product and partnership roadmap, and
perform in-line product management activities that accelerate
adoption, satisfy customers, and steal share from competition. The
sr. product manager will need to collaborate with customers, sales,
marketing, and engineers to understand macro trends across North
America and pair that with market needs/opportunities, strategic
business fit, competitive offerings, and profitability to drive new
product introduction and advance Gasboy' s position as a leader in
transportation technologies. In the context of a matrix
organization, this position is 'the Product Owner' and has primary
responsibility for executing and delivering on the profit and loss
for these product lines. This position reports to the Marketing
Director and is remote.
Key Responsibilities
Support RFP duties in marketing on technical hardware and solution
responses
Management of the Gasboy Atlas commercial dispenser line including
commercialization of new features and models
Actively and effectively manages existing product portfolio,
including, phase-out, obsolescence, product enhancements,
documentation, website and marketing copy development/maintenance,
pricing
Defining the target customer segment, identifying customer pain
points/problems to solve, developing a commercial hypothesis
(qualitative), validating the commercial hypothesis (quantitative),
outlining a clear value proposition for the target customer,
defining positioning vs competition, and clearly defining the
product/solution requirements
Lead product quality from a design, application, customer
use-model, and technical perspective. This includes ownership of
root cause and countermeasures with collaboration of operations,
support, and sales teams. Works closely with the sales, technical
service, and customer service to understand issues with the
existing products; from features, performance, to packaging and
drives changes to 'delight' the customer.
Management of Fleet Management Systems (FMS) hardware and software
release versions, release notes and bulletins
Develop and maintain future strategic roadmap for hardware and
software needs with Orpak and Gasboy engineering team through Voice
of the Customer (VOC) internally and externally
Developing sales campaigns and providing guidance on execution to
increase adoption of Atlas and FMS product lines
Developing materials to sales team to assist in selling the
different models within the dispenser and FMS product families
Providing marketing guidance and general message to the market on
the roadmap of dispenser and FMS product families
Work closely with PSS to qualify hardware and software releases
thru SQA process and validates approval to release into market
Develops competitive analysis and research of competitors; develops
and executes response initiatives including understanding of how
competitive products compete with products in portfolio.
Develop a costing tool that allows easy translation from request
for quote, quote, to sales order entry and BOM and drawing release
to manufacturing.
Develop spares/AMO strategy
Support various sales and marketing initiatives (e.g., speaking
events, webinars, tradeshows, whitepapers, etc.) and sales training
Competencies
Manage price book and communications to channel partners,
internally and to customers
Background and Skill
Minimum Bachelors' degree in Marketing, Business Administration or
Engineering
Minimum 5 years commercial experience; ideally in marketing or
product management, New Product Introduction, sales, and managing
solutions-based product lines
Demonstrated strategic marketing skills and leadership
Broad understanding of financial modeling and concepts
Experience launching new products and gaining customer
acceptance/adoption of new solutions
Experience managing programs and program teams
Strong technical fluency and aptitude. Must be able to engage in
technical discussions with customers, internal engineers, and
industry experts. Excellent communicator with ability to
coordinate/facilitate differing views/perspectives from
cross-functional team members. Must be able to obtain
organizational buy-in and support to initiatives and motivate
individuals, both direct reports and in-direct reports to achieve
desired outcomes
Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with
customers, able to distill what is truly important to customers,
differentiate and confirm the difference between customer wants and
needs and the associated economic value; able to build and position
customer specific compelling value propositions
Able to conduct original market research and analysis and lead a
marketing organization in conducting these analyses, generating
recommendations for management, adept at developing and maintaining
competitive insights/perspectives for technologies &
products/systems
Travel 25 - 30%
Remote
The base compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $
150,000 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based
upon a number of factors which may include relevant experience,
skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education,
certifications), and internal equity.
For this specific role, you may be eligible to participate in an
