Read more: .To provide medical leadership for portfolio strategy and worldwide execution of medical activities for the Worldwide Medical Franchises in collaboration with the WW Medical Oncology matrix. Success in this role will lead to more effective, repeatable and measurable product adoption and product launches, directly benefiting availability to patients and improving business performance. Key Responsibilities

  • This key role will be the strategic and operational partner to the SVP and Head, WW Medical Oncology. As such, it is critical that they are able to effectively and efficiently collaborate with/advise both their operating partner and other leaders in the organization to evaluate, assess, design, enhance and develop long and short-term strategies (1-5 years). The role has extremely broad scope and complexity, needing to influence strategy and medical launch excellence across a very broad portfolio in the US, European Markets and InterContinental.
  • The individual in this role must be able to monitor and assess external trends to inform and educate stakeholders and stay abreast of macro trends in the healthcare environment, therapeutic area market and brand business drivers. A critical aspect of this role is the ability to work seamlessly across the BMS enterprise (both within and outside Medical and form a strong partnership with commercial) and coordinate the input of stakeholders on topics with franchise-wide impact through external engagement, thought partnership, and establishment of strategic partnerships with KOLs and organizations/professional societies of the highest order.
  • The individual must understand the impact of our medicines on patient factors, including pediatrics, engaging deeply and gathering insights to guide development decisions, target product profile creation, and commercialization strategy that best meets the needs of our patients.
  • Extensive experience translating strategy to actionable projects and initiatives is also required of the candidate. She/he must be able to drive the successful delivery of project and portfolio objectives by ensuring effective stakeholder management, alignment and business engagement, and provide guidance to colleagues and business leaders to improve project outcomes and remove barriers to successful execution.
  • The incumbent will leverage capabilities and expertise within the broader Medical organization to drive business objectives, resolve business issues, and optimize opportunities. In addition, Work closely with TA and Asset Medical Heads and HR in the areas of recruitment, workforce planning, contingent workforce resource planning, succession planning, organizational structure, and other HR-related matters
  • Lead Patient Focus strategy for Oncology to embed patient centricity initiatives and drive patient voice into medical and commercialization work
  • Lead the team to execute on Market Engagement for European Markets and Intercon Markets to appropriately disseminate Global strategy and launch excellence initiatives across markets as it pertains to the Oncology portfolio
  • Lead the strategy for Professional Societies and External Engagement for key centers around the globe to execute on key initiatives including pipeline acceleration efforts, clinical trial recruitment and scientific collaboration. Lead portfolio level strategic initiatives such as global advisory boards/engagements with KOLs to drive insights shaping Portfolio Strategic Plans
  • Manage the Emerging Tumors book of work with ensuring appropriate curation of the ISR book of work and medical activities related to these tumors
  • Lead Pediatric strategy for WW Medical Oncology to appropriately design and execute on focused pediatric initiatives as needed.
  • Manage a team of experts in executing the above book of work
  • Be an active member of the WWMO LT and contributing to department level initiatives including internal and external stakeholder management, representing WW Medical Oncology in initiatives to best represent our book of work and impact to patients, as well as shaping department culture and wellbeing of team as part of LT objectives around MyVoice. Requirements
    • International experience highly desirable.
    • Advanced degree preferred.
    • 10- 15+ years of direct professional experience in pharmaceutical development in life sciences, biopharmaceuticals
    • Strong understanding of biopharma drug development and commercialization process.
    • Seeking balanced combination of scientific and business acumen
    • Demonstrated strength in understanding overarching company goals, performing strategic assessments, and developing clearly framed choices and recommendations
    • Experience with evaluating Business development opportunities preferred
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred; 10+ years portfolio management/leadership
    • US or global experience preferred
    • Experience working across a range of Medical and/or clinical development roles a plus
    • Experience in analytics, particularly in relation to product launches
    • Experience in project and/or portfolio management with the ability to develop clear action plans and execute
    • Ability to build relationships, influence and drive organizational engagement at all levels
    • Ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, negotiate and collaborate
    • Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
