DescriptionAccount Managers grow and maintain profitable ArcBest
business by selling and marketing ArcBest solutions and services to
current and prospective customers.Responsibilities
- Manage business relationships and entertain customers
- Make sales calls and presentations to customers of all
sizes
- Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with customers
- Identify opportunities, solve problems, build relationships,
secure profitable business, and increase market share through calls
and emails
- Proactively pursue customers using networking, social media,
referrals, etc.
- Create customized service solutions for customers' unique
business challenges and initiate pricing
- Monitor industry competitors, new products, and market
conditions to understand customer needs
- Negotiate service requirements and prices; establish service
packages
- Collaborate with customers, management, and various departments
within ArcBest
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of ArcBest service
offerings
- Develop new accounts using company techniques
- Identify customer challenges and develop solutions to create
opportunities
- Develop sales strategies and understand customers' business
models
- Work collaboratively to achieve team goals
- Interact professionally and courteously with all employees and
customers
- Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude in a
high-pressure environment
- Provide excellent customer service
- Complete itinerary and call reports as per company guidelines
and IRS regulations
- Prepare monthly sales audit and expense reports
- Keep accurate territory account information in the company
database
- Assist with collection processes and cargo claim prevention as
needed
- Perform other duties and projects as assignedMinimum
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; relevant experience
considered
- Experience in transportation industry and sales preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of business solutions, competitors, decision makers,
and ArcBest policies/services is a plusCompetencies

- Compensation: Salary position paid biweekly, with variable
