educational programs for surgical residents and medical students.
The Director will work closely with faculty members to deliver a
curriculum that enhances the technical and nontechnical skills of
faculty and trainees. The position is intended for a researcher
looking for an opportunity to build and lead a scholarly
simulation-based education. The appointment will be at the
Assistant/Associate/ level depending upon academic achievement. The
candidate will be charged with the development of an extramurally
funded Surgical Simulation and Education program within the
Department of Surgery.The Department of Surgery at New Jersey
Medical School, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, located in
Newark, NJ, invites applications for full time, nontenure-track
appointments at the Associate or Assistant Professor level. We are
currently recruiting candidates with expertise in surgical graduate
education, surgical simulation, augmented reality, AI and
experience with discrete event, dynamic and process simulation. The
position will be supported by a competitive start up package with
exceptional candidates being considered for further support as a
Chancellor Scholar.
The candidate will be charged with the development of an
extramurally funded Surgical Simulation and Education program
within the Department of Surgery. Key Responsibilities:1. Implement
ACS , ASE skills-based education and the ACS APDS resident
simulation curriculum for medical students and residents.2.
Coordinate simulation and collect data for research studies.3.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs,
using feedback from trainees and faculty to make improvements.4.
Mentor and support surgical trainees and faculty in their
simulation education.5. Foster a culture of continuous learning and
improvement among surgical trainees and faculty.6.Maintain an
up-to-date understanding of developments and trends in surgical
education and make recommendations for incorporating new approaches
and technologies into the program.7. Publish research in simulation
and surgical education to enhance the program's reputation and
attract high-quality trainees.8. Assist in grant
