Job Description:

Bluecadet is seeking an experienced Communications Manager with stellar writing skills to manage all external agency communications. This is both a managerial and hands-on position to set and implement the strategy for all communications, website, social media, and public relations efforts, as well as develop content consistent with brand. As the Communications Manager, you will produce all written materials for Bluecadet, which includes composing, editing, and managing the production of a full range of materials. You will be responsible for all aspects of managing and producing all communications materials, including website content, project case studies, e-newsletters, press releases, social media, and blogs. Superb copywriting skills and the ability to develop a unique writing voice that can speak to our audiences in a creative, meaningful, and memorable way will be key to succeeding in this role. Additionally, this role requires someone who is self-directed, with the ability to work in a dynamic and growing organization. This person will work closely with senior management, including the CEO, Executive Creative Director, Director of Strategy, and Managing Director. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Produce and manage review process of all written materials from draft creation through distribution of final product Writing, reviewing, and updating of content for our website Interviewing Bluecadet staff and clients to develop interesting case studies Assuring that material developed is factually and technically accurate, as well as interesting and engaging PR: Developing materials required for PR efforts, producing press releases, corresponding with press, maintaining press list, working closely with external PR agency/consultant Working with senior management to write essays/blog posts and develop speeches/presentations Find high value opportunities for leadership positioning (i.e. popular news outlet editorials, speaking opportunities) and write material and talking points Establish and maintain editorial calendar for external communications Coordinate execution of video and photography needs with in-house photographer/videographer Submit projects for awards and maintain organized awards submission process Coordinate monthly internal staff show-and-tell and announcement meetings Undertaking special projects as assigned Requirements: Bachelors Degree in English, Communications, Writing or related field 3 to 5+ years of directly relevant experience Impeccable writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to write/edit in a variety of styles, and to draft materials on a wide range of topics High energy, mature, and leadership ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels Self-starter, works well independently, entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives Strong editorial instincts and the ability to curate a content strategy that represents Bluecadet for our online channels Excellent relationship development/management skills to foster effective working relationships with senior management and team Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to manage by influence Ability to translate complex language and ideas into language easily comprehensible to non-specialists Experience with PR, including press outreach and correspondence, writing press releases, and/or working with PR consultants Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to details and deadlines Ability to analyze current workflow and implement effective processes and procedures Good eye for design, graphic design experience desired Takes ownership of your work; proactive, demonstrates initiative and accountability Strong team player Must have work authorization to work in the United States Candidates must live in the Philadelphia area or be willing to relocate The successful candidate will thrive in Bluecadets fast-paced, unique environment and, as part of our management team, will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to our continued growth.
