Physical Therapist (PT) Job Description ------ see below for PTA Description Basic Qualifications Education and Training: Graduate of an accredited college or university with minimally a Bachelor's degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy, or a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and/or equivalent certification accepted by the designated professional accrediting body. Foreign trained therapists must meet the education standards as defined by the Rhode Island licensing board. Professional Experience --- Prefer experience/knowledge managing other rehabilitation personnel.--- Prefer experience/knowledge in long term care.--- Prefer experience/knowledge in subacute care.--- Prefer experience/knowledge managing cost and productivity.--- Prefer experience/knowledge in governmental and regulatory guidelines in long term care/subacute settings.Certification/Licensure: Actively licensed therapist in Rhode Island as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist. Standard Requirements --- Supports the Mission, Values, and Vision of The Holiday Retirement Home.--- Knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.--- Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for:--- Safety- including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.--- Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee, and operations data.--- Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.--- Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.--- Supports and participates in common teamwork:--- Cooperates and works together with all co-workers.--- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.--- Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers, or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.--- Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members, guests, and the general public.Essential Duties And Responsibilities --- Provides and directs patient/resident rehabilitation care within all general accepted practice methods, meeting all facility, state, federal, and accrediting standards.--- Evaluates patient/resident needs and establishes effective and efficient treatment plans for the patients/residents assigned.--- Manages and coordinates the supervision of treatment plans with all staff and other disciplines as indicated.--- Participates in the screening of patients/residents according to directed schedules and practices.--- Provides feedback to the Director Rehabilitation on all clinical and rehabilitation issues.--- Participates in all facility directed processes and services.--- Demonstrates effective management of treatment and non-treatment related activities.--- Performs necessary clinical documentation to meet facility, state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements.--- Maintains complete, accurate and timely billing records to meet facility, state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements.--- Assists with marketing efforts as directed.--- Participates in Inservice training programs as requested.Other Duties --- Assist the Director of Rehabilitation with various administrative tasks to support the department operations as directed; may also be assigned special projects.--- Meets ongoing requirements to maintain current certification, including required CEUs.--- Performs other duties a required.Equipment/Machines Used In The Performance Of This Job --- Telephone--- Computer--- Parallel bars--- Treatment mats--- Exercise equipment such as stationary bikes, weighted bars, cuff and ankle weights, etc.--- Adjustable chairs/beds--- Modalities such as hot and cold pack electrical stimulation etc.--- Various other equipment and suppliesWorking Conditions And Physical Requirements Working conditions and Physical Requirements: Never 80% Constantly --- Sedentary (continuous sitting)X --- Light work (standing, walking, lifting X --- Moderate heavy work (lifting, moving, loading 31-50 pounds)X --- Heavy lifting (above average strength and stamina, lifting, moving, loading > 51 pounds)X Basic Qualifications Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Job Description Education and Training: Graduate of an accredited college or university with minimally an Associate's degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy.
