Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARYThe company is seeking savvy CPG leaders. In
this role the Head of Drug will report directly to the US Head of
Sales. He/she will lead strategic direction for all of Drug and
Drug Wholesale customers for North America. He/she will be
responsible for leading sales initiatives and business development
efforts within assigned customers, while providing marketplace and
competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders. The Head of Drug
oversees account team activities, which include third-party
organizations, to profitably deliver quota and business plan
objectives within budget. The incumbent is responsible for leading
innovative, best-in-class strategies to grow top line sales and
market share by instituting customized business plans that are
aligned with customer, and company, in both the short and long
term. The Head of Drug has a strong understanding of marketplace
dynamics and leads the development of business plans that deliver
incremental sales and share growth nationally, while being fiscally
responsible and delivering company metrics. He/she is directly
responsible for the talent and performance management of their
assigned team including setting and evaluating third party partner
goals, objectives and results.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDelivers all
assigned financial line objectives, primarily top and bottom-line
sales and trade spend,within assigned area of responsibilityManages
the activities of assigned team members/third party partners to
ensure customer business plans are developed and executed
successfully, modifying as needed to meet changing market
conditions and delivering intended resultsPenetrates all levels of
third-party sales agents as well as customer organizations to
optimize business relationships and resultsLeads strategic customer
meetings and other senior-level interactionsDevelops and implements
industry-leading strategy, both short and long-term, with senior
decision makers for the customer and companyLeads the development
and delivery of innovative customer-specific strategiesLeads the
team's annual business planning process for assigned
customer(s)Leads the forecasting process at the customer level and
oversees the analysis and tracking of key metrics to ensure
accuracy and identification of issues and opportunitiesOversees and
is responsible for the successful launch of new items into the
customer organizationCollaborates with account team and
cross-functional partners to deliver on company/brand strategies
and business resultsResponsible for setting annual objectives,
goals and measures for third party partners; evaluating performance
against resultsWorks on annual third-party partner annual contract
terms and negotiationsComplies with company policies and procedures
at all timesBACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE4-year degree in Business or
related field required10-12 years of consumer products experience,
5 years in direct customer sales requiredOTC or beauty care
category and direct experience with drug and drug wholesale
preferredComprehensive knowledge of consumer products industry,
brand strategies, competitive products, classes of trade, and the
ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems
successfullyComprehensive knowledge of retail customer store
operations, structure, strategy and retail execution tacticsStrong
communication skills, with the ability to translate the company
strategy into customized customer plansResolve competing priorities
for the team and the customer relating to product group, category
or brandOpen and accessible leadership style, with the ability to
consistently achieve positive resultsAbility to work effectively
within a fast-paced, complex, changing environmentAbility to
develop reporting staff to full potential and to build leaders for
