Job Description:
NYC Health Hospitals/Jacobi is a 457-bed teaching hospital
affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The

Description Purpose of Position : Under direction of the Director,
Department of Nursing, or designee, participates in planning,
organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the nursing
service and nursing education program of a hospital, hospital
center or diagnostic and treatment center. Performs related work.
Examples of Typical Tasks: 1. Performs all duties of the Director
of Nursing in his or her absence. 2. Participates in developing
philosophy, objectives, policies and standards of nursing service
and education. 3. Assumes responsibility for developing and
implementing a staffing plan and directing recruitment and
selection of personnel. 4. Develops, plans, coordinates, directs
and evaluates assigned projects and programs. Minimum
Qualifications 1. Licensed and currently registered to practice as
a professional nurse in New York State, plus (2) or (3), below. 2.
Masters Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical
Specialty or equivalent field and five years of satisfactory
nursing experience, of which three years shall have been in a
supervisory or teaching capacity; or a Baccalaureate Degree in
Nursing and six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four
years of which shall have been in a supervisory or teaching
capacity. 3. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered
to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State. NYC Health
