Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Position: RN -Med/Surg Location: New York, NY 10037 Duration: 13 Weeks Client Name: Harlem Hospital Center Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:30 PM-8:00 AM) Job Responsibilities: - -Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals. - -Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients. - -Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications. - -Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs. - -Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements. - -Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner. - -Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team. - -Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care. - -Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records. - -Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols. - null Required Skills & Experience: - -Acute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year. - -Post Acute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience in either Post Acute Facility or acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year. - -Physical assessment. - -Medication administration. - -Wound care & Infection control - -IV therapy. - -Post-operative care. - -Patient education. - -Telemetry monitoring. - Preferred Skills & Experience: - -EPIC EMR experience.
