Job Description:

Risk IT department to be part of innovative solutions that will
help define and drive Barclays’ vision to simplify and improve
processes. This role will provide the opportunity to contribute to
a highly innovated IT area which will bring value to how we do
business and manage risk in Market Risk. Be part of a team that is
expanding to multiple stripes of Market Risk to simplify the
processes within Wholesale Credit Risk and Credit Risk. To be
successful as a VP Software Engineer, you should: Have problem
solving skills to think critically and solve complex problems by
leading team(s), solving real world use cases in Market Risk space.
Have a considerable foundation in programming languages like
Python, Java, .net and able to work on enterprise scale Collaborate
within and across teams, lead and mentor team members, step in and
solve problems as needed. Suggest solution approaches , participate
and if need be lead design discussions. Ensure that the team
follows best practices in software development, testing and
deployment. Other highly valued skills include: Always strive to
learn and keep updated with the latest industry trends and
technologies. Manage multiple demands and ensure that time
management and prioritization is done effectively. Work with
stakeholders and articulate and be forward thinking in raising
issues Manage and mitigate risks working with other leads and
management. Be focused on customer needs by understanding user
needs and how your software solutions impact the end-user
experience, leading to better product design and functionality You

well as job-specific technical skills This role is located in
Whippany, New Jersey. Purpose of the role To design, develop and
improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that
provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our
customers and colleagues. Accountabilities Development and delivery
of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned
programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is
scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers,
and other engineers to define software requirements, devise
solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment
with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in
code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge
sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and
innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s
technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence
and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate
vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software
solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to
ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability. Vice
