Job DescriptionThe Senior Corporate Counsel, Compliance and Regulatory, will report to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. S/he will lead the oversight, effective implementation and day-to-day management of the Company's compliance program and will be responsible for providing regulatory law advice and counsel on a wide range of matters. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to serve as a trusted advisor and commercially astute business partner while ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating risk. The successful candidate will be a "hands-on" attorney who is able to operate with minimal oversight and effectively collaborate in a fast-paced environment. -The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make an immediate contribution to the Company's continuing growth and success. -Position Responsibilities--- Serve as the Point of Contact within the Company for compliance related matters.--- Create, implement, manage, and review regulatory compliance tools, training, documentation, initiatives, and policies, procedures, practices, and controls to ensure the organization complies with industry, federal, state, local and other standards, regulations, and laws and to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.--- Facilitate Compliance Committee meetings. Provide routine and ad hoc reports to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and the Compliance Committee regarding the operation and progress of compliance efforts.--- Develop and lead organization-wide compliance training sessions to effectively communicate and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including appropriate introductory and ongoing training for all Company employees and Board members.--- Develop and implement an annual compliance risk assessment and internal review process.--- Perform regulatory compliance monitoring and audits, draft reports, communicate findings and recommendations.--- Advise on the development of business arrangements and contractual engagements to assure compliance with applicable law; assess impact and response to proposed new rules, regulations, and legislation to provide interpretive and practical advice regarding oversight and compliance requirements for business stakeholders across the organization. ---- Develop and maintain an effective compliance communications program for the Company and provide direction and management of the compliance hotline.--- Develop and oversee a system for uniform investigation of alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.--- Independently investigate and act on compliance issues to successful resolution, including leading internal investigations and developing and overseeing the implementation of any resulting corrective actions.--- Provide legal counsel on a variety of regulatory and quality matters. Consult with internal and external counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.--- Support compliance and regulatory due diligence for new business and acquisitions.Education, Experience, & Skills Required------ 10+ years of regulatory legal experience at a healthcare/life sciences company or a mid- to large-sized law firm.--- J.D. from a well-recognized law school and excellent academic credentials.--- Admitted to a U.S. state bar in good standing.--- Detailed knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including the False Claims Act, Stark law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Eliminating Kickbacks in Recovery Act, Civil Monetary Penalties Law, and HIPAA.--- Adept at operating in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Ability to work collaboratively and to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, subject matters, and team dynamics.--- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to achieve compliance and regulatory objectives with business support and to develop strategic initiatives that align with business goals as well as budgetary realities.--- Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently.--- Ability to maintain poise and a sense of humor in stressful situations.
