Job Description Job Description Position Overview: 21st Century Distribution is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Assistant Operations Manager in Edison, NJ to help lead daily operations in a high-volume 3PL warehouse environment. this role is a key leadership position, responsible for driving performance, managing teams, and ensuring client service levels are consistently met. This position is ideal for a proven warehouse leader ready to take the next step toward an Operations Manager role. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control Directly supervise warehouse supervisors, leads, and hourly staff Drive productivity, accuracy, and on-time order fulfillment across all shifts Monitor KPIs, labor planning, and operational costs Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and client requirements Partner with the Operations Manager on staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning Lead training, coaching, and performance management initiatives Serve as point of escalation for operational and customer service issues Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives Assume full operational responsibility in the absence of the Operations Manager Qualifications: 3 years of warehouse or 3PL operations experience and in a supervisory or management role Strong leadership and decision-making skills Proven experience managing labor, productivity, and performance metrics Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Must be flexible to start early and stay late based on operational needs Proficient with WMS, Excel, and reporting tools Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Willingness to work on the warehouse floor as needed Preferred Experience: 3PL or multi-client warehouse experience Experience supporting e-commerce or high-volume fulfillment operations Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience What We Offer: Competitive compensation based on experience Leadership growth and advancement opportunities High-impact role with operational influence Supportive and results-driven work environment Interested in learning more about us?
