pre-K through age 21. In addition, Eden provides services for
adults with autism including residential and employment programs,
as well as providing clinical and training support for families and
professionals INTRODUCTION We have an exciting career opportunity
for a Lead Nurse (RN) who will provide oversight of
nursing care, procedures, and medical support for the Adult
Services program. This includes coordination of medical services
for Eden’s adult participants; maintaining all medical records and
administering annual routine tests and examinations; training of
Program staff and necessary medical support as it relates to the
medical needs of the participants; and ensure compliance and
adherence to all nursing activities and programming. The position
will be based out of Hamilton, Plainsboro, and West Windsor, NJ.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision ? Provide leadership and
development to the Adult Services Nurse. ? Provide coaching and
feedback on a regular basis; conduct annual performance evaluation.
Program Management ? Provide oversight of nursing care and
procedures. ? In accordance with DDD regulations, manage,
coordinate and maintain annual staff mantoux testing records,
including follow-up with staff as needed. ? Schedule/coordinate
annual health screenings and clinics for participants and staff. ?
Complete health reports for state regulatory agencies as needed. ?
Screen participants for injuries and medical problems as requested.
? Monitor participants weight and blood pressure as needed. ?
Monitor and assist in medical appointments for participants –
review medical information, lab values, prescriptions and orders. ?
Initiate, promote, troubleshoot and educate on health, wellness and
safety issues throughout adult services. ? Maintain stock
medications and equipment in Health Offices. ? Support Main Health
Office as needed for screenings and community outings. ? In
collaboration with the Coordinator of Health and Social Services,
serve as a resource to other health professionals and medical
offices including hospital admissions and discharges. ? Serve as a
resource for families and staff. ? Follow all DDD guidelines
regarding medication administration, documentation, Abuse and
Neglect, Danielle's Law, and Komninos’ Law. ? Participate in DDD
licensing inspections and/or investigations as needed. General
Administration ? Review medical care policy and procedures in
concert with the program director. ? Maintain current health
records for participants: Immunizations, medical histories,
physical examinations and medications. ? Maintain database for
participants’ annual physicals, dental and re-occurring specialized
appointments. ? Maintain Seizure Logs. ? Participate in Behavior
Support Committee meetings as requested. Training ? Conduct
CPR/First Aid Training during Entry Level Training as needed. ?
Conduct additional staff trainings including but not limited to
Diastat, Epipen, Nutrition and Dietary guidelines. ? Conduct
ins-service trainings at staff or program meetings as requested.
Communication and Meetings ? Attend monthly meeting with
psychiatrist to monitor and advocate for participant psychiatric
medications as requested. ? Attend monthly Adult Services Team
Meetings. ? Conduct monthly Adult Services Medical Team Meetings. ?
Attend weekly Behavior Support Meetings as requested. ? Ensure
regular communication with parents and guardians. ? Serve on Health
and Safety Committee and Aging Committee. ? Conduct regular
meetings with the Eden nurse. ? Oversee schedules for injectable
medications as needed. ( The responsibilities listed are

by supervisor/s.) JOB REQUIREMENTS POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Experience: Minimum four
years of nursing experience; experience working with individuals
with autism or developmental disabilities. Certifications and Other
Requirements: ? NJ Registered Nurse license ? CPR/AED
certified and CPR instructor certification ? Valid driver’s
license with record in good standing (less than 5 points)
Specialized Skills and Knowledge ? Ability to demonstrate a
sound working knowledge of both theory and practice of health care.
? Proven commitment to helping individuals with autism and
their families. ? Willingness to support the organization’s
mission and assist in its growth. ? Demonstrated ability to
ensure organizational compliance with contractual and regulatory
bodies. ? Demonstrated ability to ensure cooperation within
the department and across the organization. ? Demonstrated
ability to effectively interact with individuals and groups, both
within and external to the Eden Family of Services, to achieve
desired results. ? Demonstrated ability to analyze an issue
or problem and make recommendations for an effective and efficient
resolution. ? Excellent verbal and written communication
skills, as well as presentation skills. ? Proven commitment
to providing excellent customer service within all dimensions of
the job duties on a consistent basis. ? Willingness to travel
on a regular basis between Day programs as needed. Physical
Requirements and Environmental Conditions ? Fast-paced and
physically demanding at times. ? Flexibility and “on-call”
hours based on the participant needs for nights/weekends. ?
Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases. ?
Full range of body motion including handling and lifting
participants. ? Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Employee
