Summary:
The Lean Expert will support the regional Lean Master in the deployment of Lean within Companies Finance and Actuarial functions. This role is key to ensuring the day to day fundamental work is being performed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work with staff and local management to educate them on Lean principles, tools and practices.
2. Deploy Lean in accordance with the Finance area methdology and templates.
3. Participate in developming the Lean implementation charter. Key elements include scope, objectives, deployment timeline, roles & responsibilities, communications management plan, etc.
4. Work with staff and local management during the Baseline & Analysis phase to collect current state information with regard to the following;
a. Work systems - Examples include developing SIPOC and Value Stream Maps
b. Management systems - Examples include operational process metrics, visual management techniques (huddles, vision boards)
c. Mindsets & behaviors - Examples include feedback from the associates on a regular basis to gauge engagement and overall satisfaction with the work environment
d. Voice of the customer - Examples include developing the strategy for soliciting and analyzing the feedback from customers on the work processes, deliverable quality / usefulness.
5. Perform analysis of current state to determine opportunities for the target state.
6. Prepare for, lead and follow up on "kaizen" sessions for continuous improvement opportunity identification.
7. Assist with the development of target state roadmaps for opportunity realization and quantification of associated investment / return as well as business risk.
8. Provide coaching & mentorship to the departmental management and staff. Qualifications The overall business objective is to employ Lean management systems / operating systems / mindsets and behavioral tools & techniques to engage and energize associates to instill a continuous focus on the end-to-end process from a customer perspective. The expected outcome is increased capacity of internal resources which will then be applied to higher value added client activities, regulatory / business initiatives over time. The Lean Expert will be responsible for coaching and developing internal resource capability for increased internal capacity for future Lean deployment and maturity initiatives.

The Lean Expert will leverage the Lean tools and methods to work both with the staff level associates as well as departmental management.
