We are currently seeking a Vice President of Operations who will directly oversee the operations site in Somerset, NJ and indirectly oversee the Operations site in Canada. Operations supports Front End/Data Entry, Production and Service, Logistics and Purchasing with a smaller emphasis supporting QA, Strategic projects and other areas of the Demant Businesses.

The focus of this position will be on increasing quality and compliance awareness, building relationships with commercial partners, developing the supply chain, cost reduction strategies, work force cooperation and adjustment.

The right candidate should have a logistics background with a strong focus on distribution, planning & forecasting, sourcing and production. A background within and understanding of medical devices and regulatory compliance is also viewed as an advantage.

The candidate must have strong leadership experience and a proven track record for developing the operational talent pool by optimizing and constantly developing the skills of the existing team. Experience managing different teams at various levels and providing leadership in a multi-site and matrixed environment is a must.

This role reports to the COO of NA (direct) and to the worldwide Senior Vice President, HA Global OPS (indirect). This relationship has been done to ensure both a strong tie into the local execution of the NA Hearing sales activities, but also at the same time a close tie into the Global Operations strategic direction.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility of day to-day operations
  • Lead, engage and continuously develop team
  • Deploy the Global Operations Hearing Aid strategy in the US
  • Manage and ensure Global manufacturing system (GMS) is being deployed within all parts of Ops
  • Complete oversight of budgets and manage cost strategy
  • Country coordination across Denmark, Mexico, Poland and Canada
  • Strong link to the commercial organization US including but not limited to Sales, Marketing and Customer Experience
  • Cross site supply chain activities like replenishment, driving the forecasting process
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are always followed and drives a mindset of self and team of quality right the first time
  • Fostering continuous optimizations, improvements and effective problem solving

Qualifications

  • BA with +10 years' Operations/Manufacturing experience leading multiple functions. A minimum of 5 years' experience at Director or higher level exhibiting successful team leadership and management skills (People management responsibilities up to 200 employees)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic objectives as well as execute global/local strategic initiatives.
  • A track record of successful cost reduction initiatives.
  • Profound understanding of procurement processes, including procure-to-pay and technologies enabling leaner and more transparent processes and increased cost consciousness
  • Strong business and commercial mindset combined with good technical understanding
  • Experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement activities and implementation of operational Best Practices through the broader team that will improve the customer experience, increase employee satisfaction and company performance
  • IT understanding, including experience with ERP systems including deployment
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Medical device regulatory requirements understanding and audit experience (ie MDSAP)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement metrics that drive efficiency, measure performance and reduce costs
  • Proven ability to define, analyze and develop methods to optimize the receiving, order selection and shipping functions
  • Ability to Interpret organizational goals to create and communicate departmental objectives and provide clear direction to team
  • Develops an engaged team to drive towards organizational goals
  • Drives a mindset of Developing employees for peak performance
