Description:POSITION SUMMARY: Recreation AideAssists the
Director of Recreation/Assistant Director of Recreation in
preparing, conducting and organizing programs. In addition the
Recreation Aide encourages each resident to attend and participate
in activities in conjunction with resident care plan.Benefits

program with a match!!And much more!ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
During the course of your shift you may be required to perform some
or all of the following:1. Under the direction of the Director of
Recreation, assist in planning and conducting a variety of
recreation programs designed to meet the needs, capabilities, and
interests of the Residents.2. Keep ongoing and accurate progress
notes and attendance records of all residents to and from
activities.3. Work with the interdisciplinary team, attending
various weekly Care Plan meetings.4. Help in transporting Residents
to and from all recreation programs5. Carry out regular one to one
activities with the Residents and record these activities in the
attendance book.6. Work to promote the recreation program through
all available means of publicity, obtaining the cooperation of the
staff members, the residents and volunteers in furthering this
promotion.7. Assume responsibility for the physical set-up of the
room when assigned to an activity. This includes arranging the room
before the activity and straightening it up afterwards.8. Attend
departmental staff meetings and in-service training sessions as
required.9. Assist in the evaluation of programs assigned to
him/her.10. Inform the Director of Recreation of supplies and
equipment needed for assigned projects and programs.11. Acquire a
working knowledge of all equipment and reports any needed repairs
to the Director of Recreation.12. Work to assure a clean and safe
environment for the activity program.13. Promote positive community
relations through a helpful and professional attitude and exhibits
and maintains an upbeat, positive demeanor and attitude.14. Assist
in carrying out regular religious services and programs, with
record keeping, and as needed with correspondence.18. Maintain and
display art work for decorations and internal publicity.19.
Maintain plants and all horticulture items.20. Maintain storage
areas neatly and in accordance with state regulations.21. Assist
with special department projects, up to and including, but not
limited to pet therapy, Facility residence/visiting pet duties
(i.e., walking, feeding, cleaning, grooming, upkeep, etc.).22. Work
with interdisciplinary staff on joint activity programs and
therapeutic activities.23. Is directly responsible to the Director
of Recreation and shall work as assigned including weekend days and
evenings as needed.24. Ensure all HIPAA requirements are adhered
to.25. Follow all facility policies and procedures.26. Perform
other related duties as required and assigned.RequirementsCORE
QUALIFICATIONS:1. Education:a. Some High School Required2. Work
Experience:a. Previous experience with geriatric patients is
desirable.3. Job Knowledge/Requirements:b. Must have a sincere
desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and
handicapped.c. Must utilize good judgment in emergency
situations.d. Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm
in order to create an atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation and
growth.e. Must be able to communicate well verbally with residents,
families and staff.f. Treat residents and fellow staff with
respect, dignity, and compassion.g. Is mature and responsibleADA
Requirements:Candidate will have the physical ability to perform
job related duties, which may require lifting, bending, stooping,
stretching, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs or more as needed..
