Role definition

  • Defines and leads the General Medicines Medical Strategy and its implementation to support growth of Play-to-Win segment and Core Assets and contribute to the transformation of towards new business models.
  • Combines deep medical expertise with strong business partnering to enhance Medical Function to be best-in-class partner.
  • Contribute to the overall Medical transformation in the GBU
  • Partner closely with R&D teams to optimize development plans and evidence generation. Drive innovative evidence generation, evidence dissemination and KSH engagement strategies
  • Collaborates with Commercial teams to implement Go-to-Market transformation.
  • Drives excellence in scientific engagement with key external stakeholders (HCPs, Patients, Payors, Regulators, and public organizations) to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and drive customer experience.Critical Experience / Performance criteria
    • Background: Medical Degree, a PhD and board certification in a General Medicines discipline (Diabetes/ Cardiology/ Endocrinology/ Internal Medicine) is an advantage, robust knowledge of Medical Affairs. regulatory, market access and reimbursement requirements and strong Business Acumen and proactive leadership.
    • Pharmaceutical / Biologics business experience: in-depth knowledge of different therapeutical areas, acquired in leading pharmaceutical or biotech companies, is an asset in this role. A respected figure in healthcare ecosystem, having established fruitful relationships with key players (FDA, EMEA, etc.) and external experts. Ability to contribute strategically to the discussion across TAs (one Medical voice)
    • Medical Evidence generation: Ability to translate data into Medical strategy and operational planning, communicate a compelling story. Experience in designing and/or managing locally-relevant and innovative (experience in using digital tools, AI) data generation strategies is a plus.
    • Transformation Leadership and Digital: Experience in supporting company-wide projects such as Go-To-Market model change, acquisitions or divestments, as well as GBUs innovative programs or corporate programs (ie Culture etc..). Ability to innovate using CRM, omnichannel communication
    • Alliance management: ability to advocate for Sanofi's visionPersonality and Behavioral Criteria
      • Influential leadership: Must be able to positively influence peers, senior leaders, key external stakeholders as well as Internal partners. Track-record of successfully managing large, complex matrix teams
      • Excellence in people management: strong ability to lead and motivate team members from across functional areas; must be able to lead through influence and bring out the best in others, exceptional people development skills
      • Change Agent and leader in an ever-evolving environment, with demonstrated use of change management strategies/tactics to influence new ways of thinking and working
      • Results oriented: driven to develop and execute optimal strategy and meet corporate objectives, while creating pragmatic solutions.
      • Ability to navigate with political savviness through complex cross-functional problems (in order to move a program forward in the face of uncertainty or incomplete data)
      • Cross-Functional Team Leadership and ability to influence significant line and matrix management experience, including strong transversal collaboration on key functions such as R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, IA.
