Job Description:
JOB OVERVIEW:The Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible
for compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and reporting financial data
to our corporate headquarters, governmental agencies, internal
management, and external audit. Maintenance of specific reporting
systems is performed to ensure that all reports are accurate and
reflect current financial activity. Reconciliations and analysis of
financial data are required as well as follow-up/problem solving
with other functional groups within the company and externally.
Perform the various day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not
limited to booking journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing
reports, analyzing financial data for all North American legal
entities.RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists in the North America monthly
closing process by completing items required to effectively close
the books (booking journal entries, analyzing transactions,
determining accounting schemes, etc.). Position will take ownership
of full reporting package (BS, P&L and disclosure schedules)
for assigned Legal Entities.Assist in the complete process of
preparing, reviewing, coordinating, and reporting actual financial
results accurately and timely by the deadlines established by
Corporate Consolidations. Responsible for analysis of financial
information reported including research and documentation of
fluctuations during the period. Assist with global core model
implementation and provide as needed support to the Captive team
with monthly Inventory reporting to Corporate
Consolidations.Performs monthly and quarterly general ledger close
procedures, P&L analysis, preparing detailed analytical
reviews, providing explanations as required by Corporate and
preparing schedules for external auditors.Preparation of recurring
reports such as statutory financial statements and various
government reports as required.Prepare fluctuation analysis for
areas of responsibility on a monthly basis.Assist in ERP
implementation project for the phased roll-out of SAP S4 Hana
including system testing, review of data migration and other
support for the project.Assist in the preparation of non-recurring
reports and/or schedules for "ad hoc" requests as they
arise.Partners with the business units to continuously improve the
services, accuracy and timing of the reporting function. Maintains
and cultivates strategic partnerships with North America
controlling and management teams to ensure integration and
implementation of efficient process and policies.Accountable for
delivering service and meeting objectives defined in the A2R
Service Level Agreements for all North America businesses Partners
with the business units to continuously improve the services,
accuracy and timing of the reporting function.Assist in the
internal control and segregation of duties documentation to comply
with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.Provide direction on Group policy
& procedures to ensure accurate and harmonized
reporting.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or
Business Administration from an accredited four-year college or
university2-4 years of experience (CPA preferred)Public Accounting
experience is preferred. Inventory reporting or Cost accounting
experience a plus.Excellent communication and interpersonal
skillsStrong computer, organizational and time management skills
are necessaryWorking knowledge of SAP FI/CO/MM a plusMust have
