Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated biochemist for the role of Senior Scientist. The successful candidate will have a strong biologics and chemistry background and will play a key role on cross-functional teams advancing new drugs. The position will be based in Central NJ and will directly report to the Chief Scientific Officer.
 
Responsibilities

• 
  
• Drive innovation, work independently, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) for the treatment of multiple cancer indications
  
• Design, produce, and characterize ADCs with a high degree of independence in support of discovery and development of novel biotherapeutics
  
• Leverage knowledge of bioconjugation, medicinal chemistry and protein engineering to develop new therapeutic ADC technology
  
• Design and execute new project ideas (design and execution of studies, analysis of data, presentation of results) to support multiple research programs and provide critical data to inform decisions in a cross-functional team
  
• Collaborate with other therapeutic areas and groups to define targeting strategies and deliver stage-appropriate molecules for preclinical studies
  
• Keep abreast of new technologies/capabilities relevant to this role and strive to implement them to advance research projects
  
• Author data summaries, technical reports, standard operating procedures, publications, and presentations
  
   
  Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • A background in protein/peptide chemistry, bioconjugate chemistry, antibody discovery, or a related field with a record of developing new technologies and achieving research goals on aggressive timelines through effective cross-functional collaboration
    
  • Significant experience in discovery or development of targeted therapeutics such as antibody-drug conjugates, peptide/small molecule conjugates, or nucleic acid conjugates (siRNA)
    
  • A PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, or other related field with postdoctoral training and at least 3 years pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience or at least 5 years of pharmaceutical /biotech industry experience without postdoctoral training is required
    
  • A solid research record demonstrated by patents, publications, or presentations preferably in the area of targeted drug delivery or bioconjugates
