**Job Description**Our **Anoka, MN** location is seeking a **Contract Specialist** to add to our Government Contracts team. The contract specialist will have responsibilities with international, law enforcement and US government contracts, participating in and/or conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition, compliance, and fulfillment. The contract specialist will also occasionally have responsibilities for commercial contracts. All activities shall be performed in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specification partnering closely with Sales and Program Engineering to ensure compliance to contract requirements and product specifications.This position reports directly to our **Deputy, General Counsel** and allows you the flexibility to work from your home office or on-site at one of our facilities.**As a Contract Specialist, you will have an opportunity to:**+ Review contract documents ( _e.g_ ., Requests for Proposals, Requests for Quotes, Invitations for Bid, Statements of Work, amendments, modifications) for terms and conditions and compliance requirements.+ Identify risk elements associated with specific contract documents and upwardly communicate risks for business decision at the proper level.+ Serve as the customer contact point for all contractual issues.+ Negotiate contract provisions in accordance with approved business strategy, fiscal terms, and acceptable risks.+ Maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and functional departments, customer contracting personnel, and prime and subcontractors to resolve a variety of issues for contract actions, including contract compliance, technical issues, and schedule compliance.+ Proactively monitor contract status and ensures appropriate contract actions occur timely.+ Prepare bids, perform proposal pricing, and risk analyses to ensure compliance to approved business strategies and objectives.+ Maintain historical information in contract files.+ Seek training opportunities for personal development aligned with job responsibilities.+ Negotiate and prepare contracts with prime contractors and subcontractors, as well as other commercial contracts as the need arises.+ Review contracts for and interact with internal functions to address legal risks and compliance requirements pertaining to government contracts.+ Perform other duties as assigned.**About you:**+ Bachelor's Degree in Business related field or equivalent experience in contracts or legal.+ 2+ years direct contracts experience preferred.+ Strong familiarity with the FAR and DFAR is required.
