CNC Operator Lathe & MillFacility: Trenton PlantsGeneral DescriptionThe CNC Operator is responsible to effectively operate the CNC equipment to which is assigned, safely and efficiently. He/she must be able to use Quality Control measuring tools and read manufacturing drawings to ensure a quality product is produced. He/she must demonstrate the ability to take directions from the immediate supervisor and the CNC Setup Operator.Specific Duties---Follow all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures and immediately report all dangerous situations, near-misses, and injuries.---Participate in developing and updating risk assessments and review all applicable risk assessments annually.---Read and understand the drawings/prints required for the assigned job.---Know how to use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, and any other measuring device required to ensure a quality product is being produced.---Meet production rate requirements set by Engineering/Manufacturing.---Deburr, file, polish and perform other functions by hand as required to produce a quality finished product.---Maintain machine maintenance levels to ensure machine operations such as lube oil, hydraulic oil, and coolant levels.---Handle basic tool changes.---Ability to use or learn to use a computer to enter production information into a production tracking system.---Ability to correctly complete the paperwork requirements for each operation.---Must keep work area clean, neat and orderly. Perform general housekeeping functions on a daily basis as required to maintain a safe and clean work environment.---Communicate professionally with everyone in the plant.---Take directions from immediate supervisor and designated management representatives.---Work overtime as required.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications---Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.---Previous experience working with CNC equipment is preferred.---Ability to read and understand manufacturing and assembly drawings is preferred.---Ability to use micrometers and calipers is required.---Basic math skills are required.---Good communication skills are required.---Ability to lift 70 pounds on a regular basis, as much as ten times an hour.---Must be able to work in a non-air conditioned environment for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day.Personal Protective EquipmentThe following list of PPE is required while in the manufacturing area. ---Safety Glasses conforming to ANSI Z87.1 or higher ---Steel Toe Safety Shoes conforming to OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910 ---Hearing protection conforming to OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910 Hutchinson Industries, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.This position is non-exempt.
