Job Title: Head of R&D
Job Function: Oversee research activities and develop knowledge-based products.

Scope of Job:
RCM is seeking an experienced Head of R&D for growing CMO to oversee research activities and develop knowledge-based products. Develop research programs incorporating current developments to improve existing products and study the potential of new products.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Head of Research and Development directs and implements policies, objectives, and initiatives within the department. Ensures research and development activities will maintain the Company's competitive position and profitability. Consult with top management and R&D team and make recommendations based on research findings and product performance.

• Interact routinely with functional leaders to ensure alignment with process and procedures.
  
• Develop cohesive interpersonal working relationships. Provide direct liaison to customers to provide updates and obtain feedback, ensuring proper and timely communication.
  
• Serve as technical review for development and commercial agreements. Emphasize review of technical requirements/capability, financial risk, capital investment requirements, and protection of intellectual property.
  
• Create functional strategies and specific objectives as well as develop budgets, policies, procedures to support the functional infrastructure.

• Assist in development of quality improvement programs that instill a consistent higher performing quality culture. Provide technical guidance with quality issues that focus on root cause identification and preventive actions that improves our regulatory and compliance success.
  
• Ensure cGMP and cGLP are applied by the R&D personnel.

  • Propose and participate in the evaluation of R&D and methodology improvement.
    
  • Execute R&D and methodology improvement programs.
    
  • Ensure the evaluation of every new customer and internal project.
    
  • Support Business Development and Project Management teams in integrating new projects by providing adequate expertise, tools and supportive presentations.
    
  • Guarantee the performance of pharmaceutical development activities from formulation works up to ANDA filing.
    
  • Guarantee seamless transfer of the pharmaceutical R&D records to Production to ensure optimum product launch at the site.
    
  • Approve site policies and general development standard operating procedures and relevant pharmaceutical development reports.
    
    
    Education & Qualifications:
    Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Science required. Advance technical degree and/or MBA preferred.
    Knowledge/Skills: Must have at least 10 years pharmaceutical experience in R&D and GMP environment. Experience in formulation development is preferred. Demonstrated experience in Project Management or PMP certified. Must have knowledge of cGMPs and safety practices. Must have good writing skills, computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and some technical software. Demonstrated customer focus - a track record of building and maintaining positive customer relationships. Understands and has experience with Quality systems and Regulatory Compliance.
    
    Mental Requirements: Ability to perform basic calculations, read, writing, communicate and handle stress produced by time pressure, customer demands, etc. Ability to handle stress produced by time constraints, customer demands, etc. Ability to prioritize work with autonomy and drive results under pressure.
    
    Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, talking, writing, listening. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
