year - individual ($103,000 per
couple)Description: Since 1977, Princeton Child Development
Institute (PCDI)
has provided compassionate support in neighborhood homes. Our
residential
program is expanding and our team is too. PCDI seeks a couple or
an
individual to reside in a community-based residential home that
serves five
adults with autism. Ongoing training will be provided using Applied
Behavior
Analytic (ABA) principles and teaching strategies with heavy
emphasis in areas
of Practical Functional Assessment (PFA), Skill-based training
(SBT), script
and script-fading procedures, activity schedules, and zone
supervision. The
home is supported by three, full-time direct support professionals
and a
trainer/consultant who ensures consistent implementation of
programming. This
position includes opportunities for long-term growth including
career
advancement, conducting and publishing research, and presenting at
professional
workshops and conferences.A rent-free, private
apartment is provided to the couple and is located within the
community-based
residential home. The two bedroom, one bathroom apartment includes
a separate
entrance and living room. Utilities, groceries, and a company-owned
vehicle
used for job-related tasks are provided. Responsibilities: Ensure
the safety of those we supportEstablish comfortable and
supportive
relationships with residents and colleaguesCreate and maintain a
home-like living and
learning environment that enhances the quality-of-life experience
for residentsExercise good judgement and remain calm when
faced with a crisisTeach and assist in the development of
learners'
instruction and treatment goals with special emphasis on home
and
community-living skills, social skills, and language and
communication skillsDrive residents to and from activities in a
company-owned vehicle or your own vehicle, when necessarySupport
residents with daily activities
including leisure and recreational activities, medical
appointments, and
community outingsEffectively manage time and
productivityCommunicate effectively with parents, siblings,
neighbors, and colleaguesCollect, summarize, and analyze ongoing
data
regarding skill acquisition and behavior management programs for
learnersDocument all services provided in accordance
with state and federal regulationsManage residents' financial
recordsOversee and train junior colleagues with the
guidance of the trainer/consultantPrepare monthly staff
schedulesQualifications:PCDI would prefer that one member of the
couple: Has, at minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in
psychology, education, or a related fieldSome experience working
with people with autism
or other developmental disabilitiesKnowledge of Applied Behavior
Analysis (ABA)Both individuals must:Have a valid driver's
licensePass extensive background checksComplete and pass required
trainings including
but not limited to CPR, standard First Aid, medication
administration, and
professionalismWork within designated evening, overnight, and
weekend hours Sample schedule: Monday - Friday 2-10pm, with
two days off per week (on average); provide overnight support to
residents as
needed for approximately 60-75% of nights per monthWorking
Environment/Physical Demands: Sitting, walking,
standing, occasional running, some lifting, good fine and gross
motor coordination
when guiding learners, vision, hearing, receptive and expressive
language
abilities as suited to instructional, and behavior needs of
