Job Title: Research Specialist - Type: 6 month contract to hire Location: Princeton, NJ Hours: Mon-Fri 9:30-5:30 Overview: Our client's Department of Molecular Biology seeks applicants for a Research Specialist to join their -teaching lab. The teaching performs lab testing experiments, role is to set up tests for students and help clean up/maintain the lab. - This full-time position is responsible for daily organization and preparation of undergraduate laboratory classrooms during the academic year and summer. Requirements:

• Bachelor???s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience In Molecular Bio Lab.
• Person with good experience with Molecular Bio experience returning to the workforce
• Ability to work well as a team member and with students
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of basic molecular techniques and protocols Preferred Requirements:
  • Two to three years of laboratory experience (Academic OK)
  • Experience with microscopy
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel Responsibilities:
    • Daily organization and preparation of undergraduate lab classrooms during the academic year and Fall MOL214 and Spring MOL214 & Summer MOL152. Assist students & teaching assistants when needed.
    • Test & optimize lab protocols including maintenance & culture of E.coli and C. elegans, prep of competent cells, purification of plasma & genomic DNA, restriction enzyme digests & agarose gel electrophoresis. Coordinate with the team for effective execution of the lab experiments. -
