Overview









The Claim Assistant III has mastered knowledge all aspects of the LOB Claims Support. The Claim Assistant III will provide assistance to Claim Adjusters by performing a variety of support services. The position has minimal oversight by the supervisor to support the Claim Assistant III. The Claim Assistant III will provide training for new hires, assist with special projects and can provide back up to the supervisor when needed. The Claim Assistant III maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust and Claims organization.













Responsibilities









With minimal oversight from Supervisor:

Performs general maintenance /data entry in the claim files Assists adjusters in contacting insureds or other involved persons to obtain missing or incomplete information Performs financial activities to include, but not limited to, issuing payments, request for stop pays, voids and check copies Receives and/or returns telephone calls and emails as directed by claims adjuster Generate letters from system/templates Complete state forms, other jurisdictional requirements and EDI, where applicable Request file copies for various services to include, but not limited to, medical, legal, recovery and subpoena responses Coordinate and handle mailing requests to include, but not limited to, standard, overnights and certified/return receipts Submit referrals for various services Assign lossesMaintain various reports/logs Provide training for assistantsAssist with special projects or act as SME when neededProvide back up to Supervisor when neededPerforms other functional duties as assigned. Whether directly or indirectly interacting with customers, ensures quality and timely service is provided to all. Leverages strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to gather, assess, analyze, question, verify, interpret and understand key or root issues.In-depth knowledge of the technical processes in order to achieve best possible outcomes for claimant, customer and company.Possesses ability to train peers on all processes effectively.Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, gains their respect and trust.

Thorough knowledge of commercial claim procedures and policiesAbility to take direction and make decisionsSelf-motivated and detail orientedAbility to adapt to a changing environmentProfessional telephone demeanor and excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentBroad understanding of business technologyAbility to work in a team environmentEducation/Experience
High School diplomaCollege Degree preferred5+ years of experience in a claims department or related experience preferred#LI-NS1#LI-HYBRID
